It’s about here and now as much as it is the here after
Why he came
For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

He came to give life - John
Life is about being happy
Treat God - you owe me
Life is smooth one you trust Jesus
A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.

It’s not about a destination - it’s a relationship
Difference from knowing to trusting
Knowing is educational - Trusting is relational
I do not call you servants anymore, because a servant doesn’t know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have heard from my Father.

It’s not just about the after life - about living now
Think about this:
Heaven is Heaven because God is there
Streets of gold - what we value is is irrelevant - gold = pavement
Trusting a blessing or outcome - trusting Him
Life is about God , not His stuff

Relationship - knowing and walking with Him
Communicating back and forth - talking and listening
What this looks like
What makes life worthwhile is having a big enough objective, something which catches our imagination and lays hold of our allegiance, and this the Christian has in a way that no other person has. For what higher, more exalted, and more compelling goal can there be than to know God?
