1 Corinthians 12:15–31 NKJV
15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? 18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. 19 And if they were all one member, where would the body be? 20 But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. 21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22 No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. 23 And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, 24 but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, 25 that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. 26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. 28 And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 31 But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.
Introduction
Gifting is individual empowerment that has global impact.
God gave us our personality. God gave us our story, from our story we get our passion and compassion.
He gave gifts.
He placed us in the body of Christ.

1. The great Commission is not the great suggestion.

Matthew 28:18–20 NKJV
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
we all got here because somebody carried a message.
we need to take serious our responsibility to our generation in sharing the gospel.
the gifts are given to minister to us so that we can minister to the world.
the gifts given to us to minister to us, so we can minister to the world.
when I think about the gifts, I get excited, God wants to speak to the Church and the world, I get MOST excited about you operating in your gifts.
there is a lot of abuse of things that masquerader as gifts.
just because people play on the gifts do that for there own advancement, doesn't mean that the gifts are fake.
some people have gifts and a lack of development.
some people have tremendous gifts and they think they are special because God speaks to them in one way or another, means that they are special. don't let anothers immaturity keep you from exploring the depths of what God has for you.
There needs to be integrity in the gifts.
1 Corinthians 14:32–33 NKJV
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. 33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.
what this verse tells me is spiritual integrity is possible.
it is my responsability to determine the
who
what
when
where
the why is because obedience to God.

2. The church needs all her gifts not just the visible ones!

1 Corinthians 12:15–26 NKJV
26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
the value of a gift is not predicated on its function.
the Apostle Paul uses our physical body as an analogy. he says the eye cannot say to the hand I have no need of you… the eye better not get anything in it.
we need all the gifts.
we need to respect all the diversity.
all things may not be immediately evident.
Reverend Danial Moody.
1 John 4:1–3 (NKJV)
4 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
