1. We’re POWERLESS.
We cannot withstand danger by our own strength.
He doesn’t say, “I gave them free-will to protect themselves”.
Christ says, “I was protecting them”.
This is what we find in , which is part of Hannah’s prayer, which is a response to God’s marvelous wok of giving her Samuel.

She positively declares that the Lord will keep guard the very feet of His people.
And if the feet then surely the heart and the head!
They who the Lord guards, shall be guarded!
Such precious assurance found in our precious Redeemer!

Bold resolutions don’t carry us out very far as opposed to humble dependence!
W/out God’s protection we’re so weak and vulnerable.

2. Christ is FAITHFUL.
He’s loyal and tender over those given to Him.
He’s faithful to God: "While I was with them, I was protecting them by your name ...” ()
Faithful to God’s flock, He didn’t leave off a single task of a good shepherd!
"While I was with them, I was protecting them ...” ()
Now Jesus surrenders this charge into His Father’s hands.

Safety in Christ
There’s only safety in Christ’s hands and keeping.
Christ was a faithful shepherd when He was upon the earth; and
though his bodily presence is removed, yet it is
supplied by the Spirit.
He still has a concern and care of His flock; the lambs,
those that are most tender,
He carries them in His bosom; he has a particular care of every single believer,
even though there are so many thousands in the world: , ‘I know my sheep by name.’
Tom, Lindsey, Don, Velma, however called and distinguished in the world,
He is careful
to provide good large pasture,
to supply your defects.
His conduct is gentle and tender, as the little ones are able to bear, and
