Title: The Glorious Transformation by Mind-Renewal
Text:
Series: The Cause that is Worthy of my Life
The Renewing and Transformation of the Mind means:
(1) There is the ability to rightly consider oneself in light of God’s provision of faith (,)
(2) There is the ability to right consider and live inclusively with differing statuses of Christians ()
(3) There is the ability to rightly have “psyche’s” which are submitted to civic authorities (, )
(4) There is the ability to have right affections which are growing and lusts that are being malnourished (, , )
(5) There is the ability to rightly consider and receive Christians who have differences of minds/beliefs/consciences in doubtful areas (, , , )
(6) There is the ability to rightly consider what is true pleasure ()
(7) There is the ability to rightly consider the Source and Purpose of this like-mindedness ()
Applications:
(1) You do not wait until someone asks you to use your gifts/talents. You offer them. (the weight of obedience falls upon the gifted one).
(2) Condescension requires your intention.
(3) Your submission to government (taxes, police…etc) is not purely external — it is to be a submission that is genuine.
(4) Be faithful (prioritize) to ministries where you can put on Christ towards others and starve lustful pursuits solely for self-pleasure.
(5) Know the fundamentals which are directly connected to the gospel and be ok with varying consciences in debatable matters. (just because a preacher said something was black & white, doesn’t mean that is the case).
(6) Practice finding pleasure in the pleasure of others.
(7) Ask God to give you this likemindedness, and recognize that God’s glory is the worthy purpose.
Concluding thoughts:
(1) God’s glory is worth this like-mindedness
(2) This likemindedness is only possibly by the gospel
(3) All men must hear & submit to this gospel
(4) This is the cause that is worthy of my life
