A Call To Continue

As we come and celebrate a church anniversary, we more often than not reflect on the history and past accomplishments.

We read off the list of former pastors and light a candle for the members who have past on doing the year.

There is an acknowledgement of what has been done but seldom if ever there is a proclamation of our future goals that we have concluded to accomplish.

As the congregation of the Church of God, you must come into the realm of understanding of the Masters continuing plan for your assembly.

It is the congregation that fuels the hand of God

It is the congregation that determines the placement of the pastor

When Jehovah God spoke to Israel

King James Version Chapter 3

Jeremiah 3:15

15 And nI will give you opastors according to mine heart, pwhich shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

It is the congregation that determines the time of process of reaching the place of promise for the church.

Regardless of the numbered year of the anniversary or the current pastor on the program or the MC of the day, the fact is that God’s call for the church is still ringing out to cross that Jordan and take that Jericho wall and walk into the fatness of the land.

God told the church in

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, rto give you an †expected end.

God says Church it is you that I care for:

That what makes an anniversary celebration so powerful when you can say” After All We’ve Been Through We’re Still standing”

You need to place the same value on yourself that God places on you as the church congregation.

You are more than a social clud

You are more than a family reunion

More than a belonging of a political party

More than the country club

God sent me to tell you this evening that the church doesn’t stop.

It keeps going on and on and on.....

You may have some periods of stagnation, you may have some temporary stoppages but the call to go forward is always in the sound of the trumpet.

When you as a congregation live and serve in a way that pleases the God, He will not allow you to stay stagnant.

Sooner or later He will send the call get up and move forward.....

Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,

Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
