As the first soldiers jumped into the night sky, their parachutes blossoming above them, there was little time to speculate on what lay ahead.  As Sergeant May put it: “Everyone was afraid of appearing afraid, and I guess that’s what courage really is – not letting the other fellow know how scared you really are.”
