Introduction: If the only thing I remember from my time in the Air Force instructor school it’s this: If you label a person, then they will become what you label them as.
3 Observations that we need to look at today and ask ourselves one simple question: “Do I care”.
Do I care about the next generation.
Do I care if young people die and go to hell.
First Observation is:
Parents must desire to bring their children to worship
We have to look at this from their perspective: they wanted their children to be blessed by the son of God
What are we doing to be a blessing to the children as the hands and feet of Jesus
what opportunities are we offering them to worship, to become disciples, to be saved
Second Observation is:
2. Parents must feel the love of Jesus from His disciples- Vs 13 “his disciples rebuked those that brought them”
a.
They may have had “good intentions” but good intentions don’t do the work of the gospel
b.
I have heard it said that our Wednesday nights are more like a babysitting service.
We rebuke or put down the parents that bring their children and drop them off
c.
What are we doing to reach the parents of these children.
d.
Slide- 95% the family is saved when the dad is saved first, 17% when the wife is saved first, 3.5% when the children are saved first.
Third Observation is:
3. A little sacrifice goes a long way- Vs 14 “Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not.
