Romans 1:16–17 CSB
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.
…the GOSPEL, because it is the power of God for SALVATION to everyone who BELIEVES...
SALVATION...
Salvation = (σωτηρίαν, σωτηρία) deliver; rescue; make safe
Hebrews 2:1–2 CSB
For this reason, we must pay attention all the more to what we have heard, so that we will not drift away. For if the message spoken through angels was legally binding and every transgression and disobedience received a just punishment,
Hebrews 2:3 CSB
how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? This salvation had its beginning when it was spoken of by the Lord, and it was confirmed to us by those who heard him.
What is salvation?…What does it involve? [BFM2000]
Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.
Regeneration, or the new birth, is a work of God's grace whereby believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart wrought by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace.
2 Corinthians 5:17 CSB
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!
John 1:13 CSB
who were born, not of natural descent, or of the will of the flesh, or of the will of man, but of God.
Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ and commitment of the entire personality to Him as Lord and Saviour.
Acts 3:19 CSB
Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out,
Acts 17:30 CSB
“Therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, God now commands all people everywhere to repent,
Justification is God's gracious and full acquittal upon principles of His righteousness of all sinners who repent and believe in Christ. Justification brings the believer unto a relationship of peace and favor with God.
Acts 13:39 CSB
Everyone who believes is justified through him from everything that you could not be justified from through the law of Moses.
Romans 8:30 CSB
And those he predestined, he also called; and those he called, he also justified; and those he justified, he also glorified.
Sanctification is the experience, beginning in regeneration, by which the believer is set apart to God's purposes, and is enabled to progress toward moral and spiritual maturity through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in him. Growth in grace should continue throughout the regenerate person's life.
Hebrews 13:12 CSB
Therefore, Jesus also suffered outside the gate, so that he might sanctify the people by his own blood.
1 Corinthians 6:11 CSB
And some of you used to be like this. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Glorification is the culmination of salvation and is the final blessed and abiding state of the redeemed.
Romans 8:17 CSB
and if children, also heirs—heirs of God and coheirs with Christ—if indeed we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.
1 Peter 1:4–5 CSB
and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you. You are being guarded by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
The great salvation our Lord has provided for us is truly amazing!
FAITH...
[Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ and commitment of the entire personality to Him as Lord and Saviour.]
Faith/Believing = (πίστις, πιστευω) trust, believe in, have confidence in
[Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace.]
FAITH…the only way to live as a Christian (Christ-follower)
Salvation...
Ephesians 2:8–9 CSB
For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift—not from works, so that no one can boast.
2 Timothy 3:15 CSB
and you know that from infancy you have known the sacred Scriptures, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
Righteousness...
Romans 9:30 CSB
What should we say then? Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained righteousness—namely the righteousness that comes from faith.
Philippians 3:9 CSB
and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own from the law, but one that is through faith in Christ—the righteousness from God based on faith.
…”from faith to faith” (one’s faith to another’s; from start to finish of one’s life of faith)
Living as part of God’s people was, is, and always will be…by faith!
Habakkuk 2:4 CSB
Look, his ego is inflated; he is without integrity. But the righteous one will live by his faith.
Galatians 3:11 CSB
Now it is clear that no one is justified before God by the law, because the righteous will live by faith.
Hebrews 11:38 CSB
The world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and on mountains, hiding in caves and holes in the ground.
heb 11.
Hebrews 10:38 CSB
But my righteous one will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him.
SO...
Living as a Christian is not based on how smart or dynamic you are.
Talking to others is not about arguing them into eternity. It’s about removing barriers to faith.
