On this day we remember the fallen men and women who died for a cause of freedom. Throughout the short history of the United States, from the Revolutionary War to Desert Storm, our soldiers fought with pride and determination to protect the freedoms intuited by the Declaration of Independence.
In 1999, a mother wrote these word:
This weekend I am going to do something different. I am going to buy some carnations each day and go by one of the nearby cemeteries and walk through the sections for soldiers. When I find a grave that has no flowers, I'll leave and say a prayer for the family of that person, who for some reason could not bring their soldier flowers. I will pray for our country and all who serve or have served. For their families, who also serve by losing precious days, weeks and months spent with their loved ones who are off serving, preserving peace and the freedom we have in this country. I'll pray for the families who paid the ultimate price, whose loved ones died, or were taken captive and never returned. I pray for anyone who may still be held in captivity and thinks perhaps they are forgotten. I do NOT forget. Sylvia Mohr

Today with the remembrance of our fallen soldier and those listed as missing in action, I want to show you how we are assured that God will protect the Christian from falling or being listed as MIA from the cause of Christ.
God goes with the believer into battle and protects him in ways that we may not understand.
We have three assurances, in this passage, of God=s hand on the believer:
I. God Leads (1)
A. Not If, But When
B. Fear Not the Situation
C. God Will Escort

II. God Secures (2-3)
A. He Blesses His Soldiers
B. Encouragement Comes When the Battle is Faced
Charles Spurgeon said in a message:
Child of God, remember that neither goodness, nor greatness can deliver you from affliction. You have to face it, whatever your position in life; therefore, face it with dauntless courage and extort victory from it. Yet, even when you do face it, you will not escape it. Even if you cry to God to help you, He will help you through the trouble, but He will probably not turn it aside from you. He will deliver you from evil, but He may yet lead you into trail. He hath promised that He will deliver you in six troubles and that in seven there shall no evil touch you.
III. God Delivers (4)
A. God is on Our Side
1. To Fight for Us
2. To Save Us
