Jesus is repeatedly telling them who he is
The light that brings life
the bread of life
living waters
I Am saying He Is God
The Prophets all point to Jesus
I come from the Father, and will return
Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me. Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.
Jesus has done many miracles that only God could do
feeding 5000
water into wine
calming the storm
healing the cripple
BUT
the self-righteous, cynical Jews have tried to kill him, arrest Him, discredit Him, Tested Him with the woman caught in udultery
Jesus exposed their darkness of sin, that the Holy Spirit convicted them of
at this point Jesus reveals that he is the light of the world
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Again the Pharisees call Him a liar

He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image. And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea. And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood. And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy. And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments. And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory. And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

So they got away from around the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram; and Dathan and Abiram came out and stood at the door of their tents, with their wives, their sons, and their little children. And Moses said: “By this you shall know that the Lord has sent me to do all these works, for I have not done them of my own will. If these men die naturally like all men, or if they are visited by the common fate of all men, then the Lord has not sent me. But if the Lord creates a new thing, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the pit, then you will understand that these men have rejected the Lord.”

They died in their sin
When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Jesus is warning, as Ezekiel said
these Pharisees Know this passage, and should have heeded the warning

there have been warnings throughout the Old Testament, But falls on deaf ears

There comes a time in every ones existence that they will want to be with Jesus

Jesus warns, they mock V 22
Killing yourself? They believed that it was a sin that sent you to the lowest, darkest part of hell

They look at themselves as spiritual elite
God has no choice but give them a place in heaven
Here Jesus is telling them they are no better than a heathen
A fallen man, someone from Sodom
Not only are you dying in your sin, but you are not going to Heaven

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
V 27 again they did not understand, spiritually blind
And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

The dead saints are going to walk around

The massage of the cross is a must in Evangelizing
For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.
V 30 and many believed

Conclusion
You need to love others enough to tell them the truth, no matter their reaction
People need to know they are going to die in their sin
Their is no automatic go to heaven ticket
But all our convincing will go no where without
the loving message of the cross
