Outline of the Lesson
I. Idolatry is a one way relationship; God is a two way relationship.
A. God describes idols to be: worthless, futile, shallow, empty and useless.
B. How materialism, consumerism, and greed are a one way relationship. [cf. Matthew 6:19-21]
II. Idols are created by man; God created man.
A. Thomas Reid’s common sense philosophy is that the creation cannot be smarter than the creator.
B. Normal everyday things can become an idol.
C. Man can create religion.
III. Idols Can Be Destroyed; God is Eternal
