The Role of God

What would our lives be like if we took everything that God has done in our lives away? I am talking about absolutely removed without a trace. Where would we be if it had not been for the Lord? These questions matter because all of know how much we need God. A gospel songwriter makes it plain I would’ve been dead sleeping in my grave but God blessed me to see another day. We can look back over our lives a praise God for just being there.
As we look at Paul in one of the longest sentences in NT breaks down the role God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit have played in the life of his children from day one. He talks about predestination, election, forgiveness, redemption and most important GOD’S PURPOSE. Paul talks about how it pleased God to work all things out for good in our lives. GOD PURPOSE has always purposed bring everything under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
In verse nine Paul is concerned about the Mystery of God’s will being revealed to us. What is the Mystery of God’s Will.

Gods Unfolding Plan

In the OT Testament many of the prophets could see the first coming of Jesus Christ and some could see further but God appeared to not open up the church age that we live in to them. () For I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see. There are some things that God has already worked out in our lives and we may not be able to see right now.

Have you ever put together a puzzle and in the beginning all you have are pieces in the box. Our lives are something like a puzzle. Only God sees the whole picture on the box of our lives and we have pieces that God shares with us when we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Further Illustrate
In the early part of 2012 I was living in Louisiana remodeling my home and having no plans of going anywhere. Late in 2012 me and my wife begin to date and we were married in 2013 and I moved to Texas. I made it to Texas and the job I have today my wife had a friend on her job mentioned it to her and she mentioned it to me and to this day I can’t remember applying for the job. After four years in Texas, the latter part of 2016 we started coming to Rockport, Texas and in 2017 we became the Pastor at Rockport Church of God.
To understand the Mystery of the Will of God the whole time I was spending my money remodeling my home in 2012 God knew he had some more pieces he was going to add to the puzzle as means of grace and I was going to be hear this morning pastoring this church pastor this church. It may have been hidden from me for a time but later his will was revealed.
In Acts chp. 9 Paul was headed to Jerusalem threatening the church before he was blinded on a Damascus road and the next time thing we read Paul is preaching for Christ. Paul left Jerusalem with only a piece of the puzzle but God had a plan for his life and he knocked him from his beast and one encounter with Jesus changed his life around and ourselves.

God ‘s Bigger Plan

Paul had a plan but it was his plan a small plan but God had a bigger plan. When we say I have and idea that is a small idea but when we say God gave me an idea that is a big idea. When we say I chose God that is a small confession but when we say God chose us that is a bigger confession. When say I can do this or that it is a small effort but when we say I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. When we say I have all I need that is a small piece saying but when I say God has all I need that a bigger confession.
