Spiritual Heritage

We are descendant of Abraham
we have a spiritual get out of hell card
we are Gods favorites because of Abraham
Go to
these people were angry because they were called Poor Brokenhearted, Captive, Blind
no one is going to tell them how to worship
no one is going to tell them they are in bondage
Leviticus 25:42 AV
For they are my servants, which I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen.
lev
they always consider themselves free because they belong to God

Son or Slave

Romans 9:7 NKJV
nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.”
Rom
Genesis 21:10 AV
Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
is not Ismael a son of Abraham?
1 10
but not the one of promise
a slave, who was thrown out of the house
a slave does not inherit the Kingdom
16 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “If the prince gives a gift to any one from among his sons, it is his inheritance and it will belong to his sons; it is their possession as an inheritance. 17 And if he give a gift from his inheritance to one from among his servants, then it will belong to him until the year of release, and then it will return to the prince. His inheritance with respect to his sons will be only for them.
Ezekiel 46:16–17 AV
Thus saith the Lord GOD; If the prince give a gift unto any of his sons, the inheritance thereof shall be his sons’; it shall be their possession by inheritance. But if he give a gift of his inheritance to one of his servants, then it shall be his to the year of liberty; after it shall return to the prince: but his inheritance shall be his sons’ for them.
a slave can never inherit
Matthew 21:41–43 AV
They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons. Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
the servants were wicked (pharisees) were killed
But a son
receives his portion of the kingdom
the prodigal son squandered his inheritance and still he was welcomed home as a long lost son
why because he was a son not a slave
A son is by birth, an heir

Soooo How Do We Know If We Are A Slave?

John 8:34 AV
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
What sin are they committing that makes them a servant? or Keeps them a servant
John 8:24 AV
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
the one sin that condemns all, is the sin of unbelief
as long as someone continues in this sin they are a slave

“who commits.” This could simply be translated, “everyone who sins,” but the Greek is more emphatic, using the participle ποιῶν (poiōn) in a construction with πᾶς (pas), a typical Johannine construction. Here repeated, continuous action is in view. The one whose lifestyle is characterized by repeated, continuous sin is a slave to sin. That one is not free; sin has enslaved him. To break free from this bondage requires outside (divine) intervention. Although the statement is true at the general level (the person who continually practices a lifestyle of sin is enslaved to sin) the particular sin of the Jewish authorities, repeatedly emphasized in the Fourth Gospel, is the sin of unbelief. The present tense in this instance looks at the continuing refusal on the part of the Jewish leaders to acknowledge who Jesus is, in spite of mounting evidence.

continue in the sin of not acknowledging Jesus as God
Romans 8:7–8 AV
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Romans 3:11–12 AV
There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Romans 3:17–18 AV
And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.
They are slaves to sin
born into it
no way of any hope
Total depravity

The Son Will Set You Free

1 John 3:8–9 AV
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
A child Fathered by God cannot continue in sin
Again the prodigal son had to be taken to the pigpen before he repented , but he did repent
he was unable to continue in sin
The Spirit will make us hate our sin more than we like it
the slavery to sin has been broken by the cross
Romans 6:5–6 NKJV
For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
Romans 5:7 AV
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
Romans 6:7 NKJV
For he who has died has been freed from sin.
Conclusion
Give yourselves to God
Romans 12:1 AV
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Romans 12:2 AV
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 6:13 NKJV
And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
Because we are no longer slaves BUT
born and adopted into God’s family as a true son
Galatians 4:4–7 NKJV
But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
