Jesus was called a Samaritan

in calling Jesus as a Samaritan they are accusing Him as a child of the devil
Jesus just got done telling them they were a child of satan
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
They are accusing Jesus of being demon posseseed
something that was common in the time Jesus was on this earth
some thing that the people knew well
they could sometimes spot it, and knew what it was
it was not just something make believe in the movies

And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

Jesus was being accused of being under the control of one of these demons

we need to recognize that there is a growing demonic influence in the world

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Jesus was accused of something Horrific- being the exact opposite
what did he do?
Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me. And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.
He simply, calmly, told the truth
who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;
Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face. I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother’s children. For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
we will be attacked, called names, lied about, persecuted

and because He will bring Honor to Jesus- we also will be glorified in eternity
don’t fret about what others think or say about you
as Christians we have put our faith in the finished work on the cross, for our salvation
put also your faith in The Father for your life here and now
