Corona Virus

we are living in uncertain times
Deaths are going up
we are ordered to stay at home
the economy is tanking
1 month ago we would not have dreamed...
this world is changing fast
earthquakes and volcanoes ate multiplying, and the big one is overdue
locust swarms in Africa, India, Pakistan, and China eating everything green
1/4 of the worlds pigs have succumbed to the African swine fever
Australia has burned and now flooded
War with Iran looms big
The scripure this week is
John 8:51 AV
Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
How appropriate in these troubled times
But how can Jesus proclaim something that seems untrue?
all the people that he is speaking to is dead
disciples- dead, all great Christians in the past - dead
so what is Jesus talking about?

A Closer Look At Dead

Genesis 2:15–17 AV
And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
so what did they do?
Genesis 3:6 AV
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
the consequences was death
Genesis 3:21 AV
Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
an animal had to die in the place of them
but they did die spiritually
they were kicked out of the presence of God
kicked out of eden, God’s place here on earth
Genesis 3:23–24 AV
Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
so with our ancestors we see that their is 2 kinds of death
physical death when the animals in the place of, and the eventual death of themselves, as a result of sin
spiritual death, the separation from God forever, as a result of sin
Romans 5:12 AV
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
and all will be Judged
our works will be judged
Revelation 20:11–15 AV
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
our works are not good enough
Romans 3:12 AV
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
and, unless there is something to change that, we will all be found guilty
experience the second death
so we are
Born dead in sin -spiritual
going to die - physical
die the second death - be judged, sent to lake of fire
It’s appointed that man is going to die, then be judged
Hebrews 9:27 AV
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
But Jesus said
John 8:51 AV
Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
But before we look at not dying we have to see the prerequisite

Keeps My Word

Believes
a positive response to the revelations that Jesus said
Trust in Jesus words
John 3:15–16 AV
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 5:24 AV
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 11:25 AV
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
to put your full and complete trust in the finished work of Jesus on the cross
to believe that Jesus rose from the dead
To turn from trusting in yourself - to trusting in Jesus

From Death To Life

when we believe, we spiritually die with Jesus
hang on the cross with Him
buried in the grave withHim
Resurrected with Him
Romans 6:5–11 AV
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
the spiritual death that we are born with, has been given new Life
Ephesians 2:1 NKJV
And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,
and we will not experience the second death
Revelation 20:14–15 AV
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
2 out of 3
lets talk about the most common death
Death of our bodies
2 Corinthians 5:1–8 NKJV
For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
death of the body is our passing from this body to a heavenly body
we don’t die our address changes
we go home
in this time of Corona and everything else
we have this blessed hope, certainty

If You Are A Believer

Receive this free gift by faith
Ephesians 2:8–9 AV
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
that is the only way by faith
dont let this day go by without turning from the sin of unbelief
to the savior
