It is so easy to see Jesus as the Savior of the world. As sinner in danger of hellfire, we cry out for a Savior with the power to deliver us from eternal damnation. But there is more to this story of Jesus. He is not only the Savior of the world but the King of kings and Lord of lords. Jesus came to seek and save the lost and bring them into His everlasting Kingdom. Jesus is coming again. The resurrection of Christ has it's final fulfillment in Jesus ruling and reigning over a new heaven and new earth that is free from sin, heartache, and pain.

Introduction: Defining the Pain
We are living in times that will be written about in the history books. It will take on a name of the Covid-19 pandemic that shut down the world. There will be statistics of the number of cases and deaths around the world. But, as in any war, the sacrifice and the struggle of the people going through it will get lost in the pages.
There has been such an out-pouring of the human spirit and sacrifice as we come together to take care of one another. The government policies can never replace us loving our neighbor as ourselves.
For believers with ears to hear and eyes to see the scriptures come alive with end time prophecy of our coming King. And as soon as I say that there are some that will turn me off in their minds because they suppose it to be that doom and gloom preaching. But when I think of my coming King that not what comes to my mind.
As we prepare to celebrate the resurrection of Christ next weekend, the most significant event in human history, we have to put it in its full context.
Scripture: Defining the Passage
The resurrection of Jesus Christ means nothing if he does not return as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and set all things right.
The blessing of the second coming is that the Lamb of God has always been the Lion of Judah that has the power the remove the curse on creation that is causing all these groanings and heartaches.
Today is called Palm Sunday because it was on this day that Jesus entered Jerusalem and the people recognized him as their king by laying palm branches in front of the donkey on which he was riding.
Some were receiving their King, some were rejecting the King, and some were questioning the King.
There were some oblivious all together and others in rejection of Jesus as any kind of King. This is a choice in the minds of people that is still going on today. As a matter of fact it’s a choice that you will have to make at the end of this message. Some will receive Jesus as their King. Others will reject Jesus as King. But none of these decisions change the fact of who Jesus is.
Come on a spiritual journey with me this morning as we discover the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

The Prediction of the King

Jesus was ready to present himself as King

Matthew 21:5 ESV
“Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’ ”
Matthew 21:5

Jesus has always been and shall forever be the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Jesus was before all things and the creator of all things.
Jesus revealed his true self on the mountain to Peter, James and John.
Matthew 17:1–2 ESV
And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.
Matt 17:
John saw the same Jesus again in the revelation.
Revelation 1:14 ESV
The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire,
Rev 1:

King Jesus, the Lion of Judah became the lamb of God.

He secured the kingdom for his people through sacrifice.
He conquered sin and the grave so that we might live in Him.
The lamb that was slain is the Lion who reins.

The Warning Signs of His Coming

Matthew 24:6–8 AV
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Matthew 24:6-

After the Tribulation

Matthew 24:29–30 ESV
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Matthew 24:29

God only knows!

Matthew 24:36 ESV

For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Matthew 24:37–39 ESV
For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Matthew 25:31–32 KJV 1900
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. The Delay of His Coming

Man’s Willful Denial

2 Peter 3:3–4 ESV
knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”
2 Peter 3:3–4 ESV
knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”

2 Peter 3:

God’s Willful Hope

God’s Willful Hope

2 Peter 3:9–10 ESV
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

A Christian’s Willful Expectation

2 Peter 3:11–13 ESV
Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

Next Steps: Defining the Process

If you have been in willful denial, repent from your wicked ways and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and King.

he will forgive you of your sin and cleans you of all unrighteousness.
God will adopted you into his family and make you a joint heir with Jesus.

Look for ways to minister to your neighbor as you would if it were Jesus.

Concession, Comfort, Covering, Compassion, and Companionship.

Find your hope in the expectation of the new heaven and new earth not in this one.
