In order to have others understand where you are coming from you have to take time to understand them. To make the effort to understand someone is a hig compliment when more often we are prone to judge.
Our focus is key in guiding our efforts in the church.
To become like someone you have to become a student of their ways
Heb 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no-one will see the Lord.
1 Cor. 9: 19 Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. Ph. 4:11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Grace is held in tension between justice & mercy. Who shall bring anything against - is it not God that justifies
I know both how to be abased and how to abound
Truth exists at it’s finest in tension with extremes.
What are the things that tend to create imbalance in a person’s life?
q Refusal to try to understand other people. Greates way to influence people is to seek to understand them. People are influenced by us to the same degree that they perceive that we are influenced by them.
q Comfort zones. We seek to find places where we will not be pulled in other directions.
A loss of romance in the relationship with God. He doesn’t turn us into slaves for the kingdom but heirs. We serve because we love.

Why is it important to be balanced individuals?
I've learned. . .that a kindness done is never lost. It may take a while, but like a suitcase on a luggage carousel, it will return again.
