says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Why is God referenced as the Alpha and Omega? First, in this context the New Testament was written in Greek and Alpha and Omega represent the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. Therefore, our Lord God is the first and last (beginning and end). He is infinitely existing.
in the NET says, “Who acts and carries out decrees? Who summons the successive generations from the beginning? I, the LORD, am present at the very beginning, and at the very end—I am the one.”
