1st birthday cakes with the boys
Started crawling and walking, suddenly all the things that you didn’t think about being accessible was now being accessed
God puts His faith, and makes it available to all:
Romans 12:3 KJV 1900
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Openness of Faith

Hebrews 11:11 KJV 1900
Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
Faith is open to any who will believe
Genesis 12:1-5
Genesis 12:1–5 KJV 1900
Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.
Sarah was 65 yrs old at this point
Having a child was very important in these days, especially a boy
Abraham, her husband, comes and says, the Lord talked with me. He said we will have a family! The world will be blessed because of our family.
We will be doing some travelling
This would involve Abraham’s nephew leaving them along with the strife between the 2 men
This would involve battles that her husband would be involved in
They would see God destroy Sodom & Gomorrah because of their sin
10 yrs later Sarah would have a moment of doubt and suggest to her husband that the Lord is going to fulfill His promise through her handmaid, Hagar.
Hagar would give birth to Ishmael
Abraham was 86 yrs old
Sarah was about 76 yrs old
13 yrs later:
Gen 17:1-5
Genesis 17:1–5 KJV 1900
And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
Gen 17:15-19
Genesis 17:15–19 KJV 1900
And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her. Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
Again God comes to meet with Abraham and Sarah:
Gen 18:1
Genesis 18:1 KJV 1900
And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
Gen 18:9-15
Genesis 18:9–15 KJV 1900
And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent. And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.
Sarah is:
Believer
Wife
Faithful
Doubted
Laughed at God
Doesn’t have a mansion or a fine car
Doesn’t have a platform or 5,000 Facebook friends
The Bible insinuates that outside of her family there’s little connection to anyone else
Yet, God chose to use Sarah!
Putting the boys behind the wheel of the car - WHILE PARKED
God has put us behind the steering wheel of the priceless vehicle of faith, and says, what would you like to see me do in your life?
Faith is open to all!
Faith is based upon the One Who promises
Heb 11:11
Hebrews 11:11 KJV 1900
Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
Gen 18:14
Genesis 18:14 KJV 1900
Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
Sarah’s faith was real, not because of how great she was, but because of the greatness of God
The crack in the boat in Toledo, Ohio - glue
I suggested this because I had seen my dad repair so many things with his glue, it seemed like he could fix anything
Such is the case with our great God.
We’ve seen what God can do. All of creation speaks of His greatness and power!
Job loss? You may look back at 3 years from now and see hod God used this time to put you into a better job than you could have imagined right now
Finances? You may look back in 6 months and see how God has carried you through this time and give testimony of how God brought you through
Relationships? God can use this time to help mend some relationships and bring your family closer together than you thought possible
Sarah, held a child:
Gen 21:1-7
Genesis 21:1–7 KJV 1900
And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac. And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him. And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him. And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me. And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.
She named her son Isaac - this actually means laughter
She named her son as reminder of when she questioned if God could her a child!
The people we have read about in Hebrews 11 are real people. They were not superheroes, but faithful people that stayed true to God’s promises.
People like Sarah gives us hope and strengthens our belief in God.
If God can use Sarah to demonstrate faith, He can use us!
Faith is not based upon who we are, but upon Who God is!

Greatness of Faith

Hebrews 11:12 KJV 1900
Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
Isaac should never have been. This was impossible for a woman who was past the age of conceiving a child to give birth.
The situation looked dead!
But God!
God loves to show how strong faith in Him can be when all seems to lost.
There’s no other option!
Jesus hears about Lazarus being ill:
He doesn’t come right away, but rather waits
John 11:14–15 KJV 1900
Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.
They come to Bethany
Martha and Mary meet him - Jesus groans in Himself and weeps
They take Jesus to the tomb
John 11:39–45 KJV 1900
Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.
God loves to do the impossible when all looks lost!
Put your faith in Him, child of God!
Your circumstances might look impossible, but remember our Father is the almighty God!
There’s nothing our God cannot do!
If you’re not saved, and all looks hopeless, may I implore you to come to God and put your faith in Him for salvation!
Forgiveness of sins
Salvation from hell
Eternal life
This is through Jesus Christ. Jesus paid for our sins. Would you accept His payment for your sins?!
Romans 10:13 KJV 1900
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Just as living the Christian life by faith is open to any saved child of God, the opportunity to put your faith in Jesus for salvation is open to any who will call upon Him!
