Introduction:

Saints should DESIRE TO

Matthew 6:9–10 NKJV
9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

Saints should be DIRECTED BY

James 4:15 NKJV
15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”

Saints should DELIGHT IN

Psalm 40:8 NKJV
8 I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.”
Not my will but the LORD God Almighty’s will to be done. WHY?
James 4:4–7 NKJV
4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? 6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Submission is a humble attitude where obedience is rendered within a relationship; whether it be to God, or authorities in the family, in the church, in government, or other people at work.
God is the Ultimate Authority
He is Creator, Sustainer, Provider, and Protector. He is All-powerful, All-knowing, and Always presence. He is Sovereign.
God requires submission to His authority!
He requires Submission to His established authority this is why Peter told the people in his day and is declaring to us today
1 Peter 2:15 NKJV
15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men—

I. Irrefutable Loyalty

Your Civic Life

1 Peter 2:13–14 NKJV
13 Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake, whether to the king as supreme, 14 or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good.

1. Acting for God

1 Peter 2:14 NKJV
14 or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good.

2. Appointed by God

Romans 13:1 NKJV
1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.

II. Irrefutable Labor

1 Peter 2:16 NKJV
16 as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.

Your Commercial (work) Life

1 Peter 2:18–19 NKJV
18 Servants, be submissive to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the harsh. 19 For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully.

III. Irrefutable Lifestyle

Your Community (family) Life

In Marriage
1 Peter 3:1 NKJV
1 Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives,
1 Peter 3:7 NKJV
7 Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

Your Church Life

Hebrews 13:7 NKJV
7 Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct.
Hebrews 13:17 NKJV
17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

IV. Irrefutable Language

17 Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

We are called to

2 Peter 2:10 NKJV
10 and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries,

Love for the brotherhood (body of Christ)

Eph 4
Romans 13:8 NKJV
8 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Fear God
