Mothers live in a world that is filled with injustice, racism, oppression.....Governed by the power elites who will use every tool in the arsenal whether its through degrading music, communities undeserved through lack of resources , MARGINALIZED, FORGOTTEN, AND OPPRESSED. TRYING TO LIVE IN A WORLD THROUGH DESPERATE, HOPELESS SITUATIONS IS VERY DIFFICULT.
We live in a world that needs Jesus.
As I read the Gospels, I see this same truth lived out time and again. There is passage after passage showing Jesus as He goes to people trapped in desperate situations. Whether it is a sinful woman at Jacob's well; a blind man at the Temple; a poor beggar in Jericho; or a rich man in a tree; we are given the privilege of watching as Jesus moves in power for people who are trapped in hopeless and helpless situations. I want to look into one of those wonderful times today. I want to look in on a pitiful little scene in a tiny hamlet called Nain.
Lexham Geographic Commentary on the Gospels Chapter 16: Shared Memories of Resurrection on the Hill of Moreh (Luke 7:11–17)

Luke presents Jesus as a great prophet by means of literary and geographical allusions to the ministries of Elijah and Elisha.

• All three prophets resurrected an only son: Elijah at Zarephath, Elisha at Shunem, and Jesus at Nain.

• The miracles performed by Jesus and Elisha were performed on the slopes of the same hill—a connection Jesus’ audience was sure to make.

• The parallel miracles and locations of these events strengthen Luke’s presentation of Jesus as the fulfillment of Israel’s prophetic expectations.

Nain can be defined as “ to be comely or befitting” or beautiful....
Expository Outlines from Luke 11. Christ Demonstrates His Power (Luke 7:1–17)

Christ never preached a funeral sermon. When meeting the dead, He gave them life. He came to give life (John 10:10; 11:25–26). He who has Christ, has life. Without Christ, man is dead in his sins (Eph. 2:1). He gives enjoyable life, but also eternal life.

John 10:10 KJV 1900
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
John 11:25–26 KJV 1900
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
I need thee every hour because:

Psalm 86:15 KJV 1900
15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
Dictionary of Bible Themes 2015 Jesus Christ, compassion of

The compassion of Jesus Christ is the basis of Christian confidence

Heb 4:14-16 The Greek word here translated “sympathise” has the sense of “be compassionate towards”.

A woman named Hagar first used one of these names. When God met her in her distress, she said, “You are the God who sees me…I have now seen the One who sees me” (Genesis 16:13). This phrase, “The God Who Sees Me,” is translated “El Roi” in Hebrew.
Genesis 16:13 KJV 1900
13 And she called the name of the Lord that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?
El Roi is the God who numbers the hairs on our heads and counts our every tear. He knows every detail of our circumstances. Even the most attentive parent must sleep; but our Heavenly Father never closes His eyes to us. El Roi never misses a detail of what is happening. He sees everything.
Psalm 139:16 KJV 1900
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; And in thy book all my members were written, Which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
Jesus See You and Me this morning......He sees us even when we do not see Him.....
when your in your pain, Its hard to see anything.....but Hallelujah, He see you in your suffering, your pain, ......I need Jesus to meet me at the intersection of hopeless and oppression....as the world is carrying me out , Jesus See me ........
Jesus told the woman to stop weeping......
Today......just for a moment, dry your eyes.....obey the commandment of Jesus....If you trust and obey , We can move to our next point.......
Point 2- His Power touched My Poverty- v14
The widow’s son was her treasure.......He was her means for survival.
Acts 10:38 KJV 1900
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV 1900
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Dictionary of Bible Themes 2066 Jesus Christ, power of

Jesus Christ’s power over human life

Luke 7:22 KJV 1900
22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
If Jesus Got power over this mans life to tell him to Arise
and the power over His own life.....You and I know what it means for the Lord to touch us....
Shackled by a heavy burden 'Neath a load of guilt and shame Then the hand of Jesus touched me And now I am no longer the same.
He touched, oh, he touched me And oh the joy that floods my soul! Something happened, and now I know He touched me, and made me whole.
Yes, Jesus can touch anything that’s broken and dean and bring life to it....but When Jesus touches us, any Mother who child belongs to Jesus has to be touch by Jesus......When the power of the blood and the power of the Resurrection touched my situation, I was broke busted and discusted.......Sin has caused your and me a terrible debt......but Jesus......came and touched me ....He touched my Gernie ........I can get to verse 15.......we don’t know what He said, what he sang.....But when the power meets your poverty, You can be like this widow and Hit the lottery....I need Jesus every hour, I need Jesus to touch all the dead areas of my life I need Jesus to touch .....student loan debt, our dead sons and daughters living in sin, If I can touch the hem of His Garment.......The power of Jesus can deal with my povery
You and I can get to our final point.......

John 17:5 KJV 1900
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
The Key here is that they feared God......
Luke 7:16 KJV 1900
16 And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
Only people who fear God can glorify the Lord.....Only people who can see the works of God ......see the Reversal.......See a dead who was dead and now the Widow son is alive Talking.......What did the Widow Son Say? Were not sure, but Im sure whatever he said Gave God the Glory.........
The challenge today is to trust God that whatever you Give to HIm, He will give it back to you better that you gave it back to Him......Jesus gave the boy back to His mother
Lexham Geographic Commentary on the Gospels Jesus’ Miracle at Nain and the Similar Miracles of Elijah and Elisha

The people’s response, “A great prophet has arisen among us” and “God has visited his people” (7:16 ESV) suggests that the people of Nain remembered the last time a great prophet, Elisha, had performed a very similar miracle on the slopes of the same hill.

Faithlife Study Bible Chapter 7

7:16 A great prophet has appeared among us Accounts of Elijah and Elisha raising sons from the dead appear in 1 Kgs 17:17–24; 2 Kgs 4:32–37.
