What we are witnessing is the work of Satan and the sin of man backed by the world system to cause hate, fear, and separation.
Racism is a lie.
Peace through chaos is a lie.
The right to destroy is a lie.
You should live in fear is a lie
Satan is a liar and the father of lies.
He has no authority over you.
If you resist him he will flee.
Greater is he who is you than he who is in the world.
All people are created in God’s image and have intrinsic value is the truth!

READ
Acts 7:58–8:8 ESV
58 Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” 60 And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep. 1 And Saul approved of his execution. And there arose on that day a great persecution against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. 2 Devout men buried Stephen and made great lamentation over him. 3 But Saul was ravaging the church, and entering house after house, he dragged off men and women and committed them to prison. 4 Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word. 5 Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed to them the Christ. 6 And the crowds with one accord paid attention to what was being said by Philip, when they heard him and saw the signs that he did. 7 For unclean spirits, crying out with a loud voice, came out of many who had them, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. 8 So there was much joy in that city.

Saul

Who is this guy who showed up out of nowhere?
Saul was overseeing. He had authority.
Saul gave approval. He agreed that serving Jesus deserved death.
Saul was a zealous enforcer. He didn’t just target the men but went after the women as well.

Persecution

2 Timothy 3:12–13 ESV
12 Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
John 15:20 ESV
20 Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
Matthew 5:10–12 ESV
10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
What these verses point out is that Persecution is a part of living as a Christian in this world. Why does the message of peace offend so many? Why are Christians villainized?
Mistakes
History
Abuse of the name of Jesus
Evil done in the name of Jesus
The world system is opposed to Jesus
The more we see corruption grow, the more we become aware of the reality we live in.
Rejoice in the times of peace. Thank God for the Christian influence in America but never gloss over the mistakes made. Never cling to your God given freedom when others are loosing theirs.
What is our response to be:
2 Timothy 3:14–17 ESV
14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it 15 and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Are we prepared to face persecution in the manner that Jesus has called us to? Are we prepared to focus on the Gospel over all else?

The Mission

Acts 1:8 ESV
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 8:4–5 ESV
4 Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word. 5 Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed to them the Christ.
What did they do?
They preached.
What was the result?
Acts 8:6–8 ESV
6 And the crowds with one accord paid attention to what was being said by Philip, when they heard him and saw the signs that he did. 7 For unclean spirits, crying out with a loud voice, came out of many who had them, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. 8 So there was much joy in that city.

Remain Steadfast

Galatians 6:7–10 ESV
7 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. 10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Love all People

Be about the business of the kingdom
Jesus loves . . .
Jesus Died . . .
Jesus is Rose
So all mankind might be saved. That is our mission. To go into all the world and to preach the Gospel to every person, Red, Yellow, Black, or White.
Galatians 3:28–29 ESV
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.
