John 14:1-6

John 14:1-6
John 14:1–6 NLT
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going.” “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
Don’t let your heart be troubled — Do not let your heart be intimidated by the situation. Dying is perhaps the most intimidating of all life’s situations.
To be intimidated means to have a frightening, overawing, or threatening effect
Death can be overwhelming for all of us. But Jesus says here in this passage that we should not be overwhelmed at the prospects of it…not of His impending death and not our own either. We have heaven!
When we die we immediately go to be in the presence of Jesus. Jesus told the thief on the cross, “today you will be with me in Paradise.” There would be no waiting period. He was going to be immediately in the presence of Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:8
2 Corinthians 5:8 NLT
Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord.
Wanda closed her eyes here and opened them in the presence of the Lord. She went immediately into His arms. That was her hope (expectation of good things) and that is ours as well.
And it was in this hope that she placed her trust…she relied upon the character, power and intentions of God…His love…omnipotence and compassion toward her.
She knew the way to God’s heart and it was there that she found her life…and this way is open to each of us as well. All of us can live in the same hope she had…live in the same trust that she had in her Savior.
John 3:16
John 3:16 NLT
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
God had a plan of Salvation and His Son did the work of carrying it out. Not it is up to each of us to have faith…believe and trust.
Jesus is the only way to heaven…He is the way, truth and life…no one comes to the Father except through Him…and His sacrifice for their sins.
Wanda went to a place prepared for her…and God has a place for you as well.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 NLT
And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words.
Some day there will be a resurrection of the body
Will you have faith in Christ for eternal life?
