Introduction

Paul is bringing his letter to the first century chruch in Rome to a close. We see that Tertius physically worte the letter under the guidance/dictation of Paul. We also see how Paul wanted to visit Rome to encourage the chruch after he gives the offering to the chruch in Jersualem. Paul also mentions that he intends to stop by Rome on his way to Spain. His plan was to make the visit brief in Rome, however, God had other plans. Paul eventually makes it to Rome after giving the offering to Jerusalem, but he arrives in chains. He is arrested in Jerusalem and then demands to have court before Caesar.
Read: Romans 15:15–16 (ESV): 15 But on some points I have written to you very boldly by way of reminder, because of the grace given me by God 16 to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
Paul is reflecting on the letter to the Roman chruch in its entirity. He has brought them through the soteriological theology, an ecclesasticalical foundation. and a brief look into escatology. That is the doctrine of salvation, the foundational building of a healthy chruch, and the promise that God will return for the faithful followers of Christ.
Paul could speak of the grace extended to him by Christ because of where he had come from. Paul in Acts gives his pedigree as a devout Jew. He was taught by one of the greatest Rabbi’s of the time. He was zealous for keeping the Mosiac Law. He was a Pharisee of the Pharisees holding tightly to the legal system. He was also a Roman citiizen, which gave him a unique st anding that came with rights and privledges that other Jewish leaders did not have. After his conversion on the road to Damascus he was radically changed and began to see the importance of serving Christ because of the grace that was extended to him. Paul begin to focus on the ministry of spreading the Gospel. He focused on six (6) aspects of ministry.

a. Paul was always encouraging those whom he was writing to.

Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith— to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.
