1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
I. Intro
Unity
Five letters that mean so much,
It’s something you can feel but just can touch.
It’s a word that was meant to unite us,
Because often times we let little differences divide us.
Now is that the world that we were brought up in?
Or is that just the ignorance that we get caught up in?
I know how the world is right now, not a pretty place.
When boys dont need fathers and teachers…and
girls don’t need intelligence, just a pretty face
To succeed.
And girls overseas can’t even learn to read,
Or can’t show their face,
Because it’s seen as a disgrace
And young black men and women get smacked down and told to know their place.
People are victims of hatred so unwarranted.
Kids aren’t being bullied anymore, their being tormented.
It’s past teasing now, it’s at torture.
Either adults don’t believe you or they try to extort you.
There’s just so much bravery behind the computer monitor or phone,
And things are said that probably could have haunted you.
But it’s all fun and games right?
Sometimes anonymous, we aren’t saying names right?
Let’s try spreading love instead of spreading hate.
Maybe then some of this violence could disintegrate.
It’s a shame kids get toe tags before they get to turn their tassel.
All this violence, I’m wondering is it worth the hassle.
Is it ever serious enough to need a gun?
My heart goes out to all the mothers and fathers losing sons.
I cry for you and I pray for you.
I hope the lord will bring a better day for you.
Can we all come together and agree
In this community, unity is something that we need to see..
i. with one accord-
in our text we have an example of what happens when .. two.. or three are gathered together … in our text we have an example of what happens when you follow leadership… in our text we have an example of what happens when you are obedient to the Lord..
in acts the 1st chapter and the 4th verse jesus told.. the bible says apostles .. not to leave jerusalem but wait here until the promise comes… the promise was being baptised by the Holy Ghost… and with fire..
fire becaue when the holy Ghost falls it burns up .. like the bible says .. a consuming fire.. it burn up the loose ends. so that nothing is supposed to get in.. or leak out..
they say cleopatra had the ends of her locks burned.. on a regular basis in order to tie up loose ends… in order to get reed of all the unessarrly stuff… the unhealthy stuff...
they say never burn bridges.. because when you burn it… you loose that connect… because one day you may need that connect to get back..
but when your bapisted with the holy ghost.. he will come in and burn up those things you think you need but dont.. he will destroy .. those evil desires.. those hinderances...
there is a baptism by the holy ghost and a filling with the holy ghost...

imagine a home burning to the ground…in a blaze so bad the fire fitghters cant even put it out… nothing left but ash… everyone who drives by the lot after the fire .. can see .. can notice.. and tell something obviuously happened ..
but what you cant see is the burn grass that was once burn to the ground slowly growing…and little by little because the was nothing there to continue to burn or .. cut off what was growing.. ..
because seed s were there from the begining… and the rain keep coming.. .. you see all the rain is doing is feeding whats already there..
and after some time goes by.. you can go by and look at that same house and see it covered by wild grass...
let me say it like this.. your yard can be burned up by the sun… and the rain can come and bring it back to life.. and if you dont mow your grass… if you dont cut that stuff back… pretty soon your yards going to be out of control..
sometimes we say we have been baptised with the holy ghost… and this maybe true.... but if your not filled with the holy GHost… a consuming fire… you will find yourself growing into wild grass..
you can say you have been filled … but but now your back doing the same thing you used to do.. and sometimes worse.. still fussing in cussing.. and instead of having conviction… instead of saying Lord forgive me.. you keep going and now you feel like your justified...
but the devil is a lie...
somebody shout … fill me Lord..
the bible says in the days of sodom and Gomorrah .. there was a consuming fire… that destroyed everything.. and even if you go over there tomorrow.. you will still want see anything… because if God is in it.. its gone be done right..
when your filled with the Holy Ghost .. its like fire shut up in my bones… when people say or do something stupid… or get sideways with you.. you may feel yourself geting ready to let go...
but the holy ghost will close your mouth … tell you shut up.. tell you dont say nothing...
when those words that you cant say in church want to come up.. because he didn't wipe them from your memory.. you will start praying…
and now that you have been filled .. and the bible says sealed .. you cant be feed from the world.. you cant get your strength from a blunt.. or pill..or a drink...
but your strength now comes from the joy of the Lord… the joy you fill when your living a life that s pleasing in God sight...
your strength and power comes from fasting and praying.. and the more you fast and pray.. the more the Holy Ghost has to operate in you...
the more .. the closer you and unity.. as one.. the more power you will have to go to the uttermost parts of the earth to proclaim the word of God..
somone say unity....
you must be on one accord with God..
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
2 That they gathered themselves together, to fight with Joshua and with Israel, with one accord.
3 And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done unto Jericho and to Ai,
24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
at the end ..
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
the bible says .. when the day of pentecost had fully come.. they were all on one accord...
5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
my wife has a spirit of evangelism.. and she will inspire… and revive you.. and even though some of our roles overlap my main obligation is like you gps system.. of google maps..
im supposed to watch out for the Lords people and lead you to God.. help prepare you get get to heaven..
the bible says...
25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
so in other words ..if she gets side ways.. if someone gets sideways and thinks they are supposed to be the pastor.. or operate in a place that they are not ready for.. and if we start going back and forth.. and i dont put a stop to it.. the house will fall..
if you dont want to follow God , then i know you want follow.. so the best thing for you to do is leaving.. because going against your leader is a curse..
husband and wife fighting.. she fussing not because he is not trying.. or trying his best.. but because he aint fast enough..the house will fall..
the bible says..
I. unequally yoked
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
14 Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?
dont be like the children of Iseral.. married strange men and women .. and started serving other Gods..
you belive in Jesus and he believes in buddha… dont get married.. because the bible says the married women cares for the things that please her husband.. and since you want to do the word and please your husband .. you start serving buddha...
and then you will find yourself in bondage.. spiritually and emotionally...
no find yourself a wife that belives in Jesus.... ladies dont marry anyone who does not beleive in jesus christ.... im not talking about he believes.. you have to be dipped 2 times and you believe you have to be dipped 3...
or a saved and unsaved relationshp.. yes thoses marriages are hard also.. but they can work.. and your life and commitment to God.. can inspire him or her to completely surrender to God and they can be the next bishop or evangelist in the church..

as i close .. i just came to remind you .. he only way you are going to receive what God has for you.. is for you to be on one accord with him..
its not going to be your will or your way..but its going to be Gods will and God ways… some are acting like spoiled children that cry fuss.. fight .. and leave when things dont go the way they want them..
and as parents if we feed into it.. and give in…if and when they decide to give God a try ..they are going to have the hardest time… because all their life they have been giving wha they wanted… and now they are going to expect the husband or wife… and sadly God to do the same...
my sister my brother.. one of the fruits of the spirit is humility.. lets humble ourselves in the presence of God.. and allow his will to become our will so we may obtain those promises he has for us..
Vi. prayer
Lord today i pray.. lord today we stand in your presence and ask that you humble us .... God help us to put you and your will first.. help us to live a life that pleasing in your sight.. Lord help us to surrender our will to your will.. so that we may obtain and experience those promises those blessing that you have for us.. Amen
