Transcript
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Immutability - means God doesn’t change.
In terms of his essence, that means he never has less or more power.
He is always infinite.
In terms of his Character, that means his character never changes.
Contrast this with humanity - We are in a constant state of change.
We are always getting older.
We are always learning.
Further, We are subject to change our minds.
he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
I hate the double-minded,
but I love your law.
“Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
But then I think of God - who never changes.
God is not man, that he should lie,
or a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Has he said, and will he not do it?
Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
We read this this morning, but may I read it again.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Our savior never changes.
He will never take away his promises.
He will always be the savior we can turn to.
He will always be our advocate who intercedes for us.
He will always be looking out for our best.
He will always keep his promises.
His promise to return, to glorify, and to put everything under his feet.
As Numbers 23:19 says - Will he not do it?
Part of what we do today - is celebrate the unchanging nature of Christ.
We celebrate once again that - by his blood is the remission of sin.
Let’s take a moment to celebrate the unchanging nature and promises of Christ.

Paul also gave a warning regarding the Lord’s Supper.
1 Corinthians 11:27-32
27 Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. 30 That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died. 31 But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged. 32 But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world.
Close Communion Explanation: Because of Paul’s warning we practice close communion. If you are a baptized member of a like-minded church than we would love to have you partake communion with us. However, if you are not a baptized member of a like-minded church we ask that you would respect our remembrance by allowing the Lord’s table to pass by you.
Bread
At this time we shall take up the bread. The bread represents the flesh of Jesus that was crucified on the cross.
Pray

In Remembrance of Christs bodily death for sins you may eat the bread.
Blood
At this time, We shall take up the cups of juice. The juice represents the blood of Jesus spilled upon Calvary.
Pray

In Remembrance of Christs spilled blood you may drink the cup of juice.
