BAPTISM
This is one of the most celebratory Sundays that we will have as a community. This is why we as a church exist, is to see all people know love and follow Jesus. Today we are celebrating baptism. We are joining in with heaven as we celebrate new life.
I tell you, in the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents.”
我告訴你們，因為一個罪人悔改， 神的使者也必這樣為他歡樂。」
I want to take a few moments quickly and tell us what baptism is:
Baptism is the practice of the church which publicly testifies to an individual’s inward repenting of sin, confession of believing the gospel message, and becoming a member of Christ’s body.
So three things we are going to witness to today. Three things Baptism symbolizes(IT IS A SYMBOL):
(there is nothing magical about this water, it feels great, but the water, the words, the ritual, that is not what saves us, only Jesus does)

1. Follows repentance & faith
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” With many other words he testified and strongly urged them, saying, “Be saved from this corrupt generation!” So those who accepted his message were baptized, and that day about three thousand people were added to them.
彼得說：「你們應當悔改，並且每一個人都要奉耶穌基督的名受洗，使你們的罪得赦，就必領受聖靈，那白白的恩典。這應許原是給你們和你們的兒女，以及所有在遠方的人，就是給凡是我們主 神召來歸他的人。」彼得還用許多別的話，鄭重作證，並且勸勉他們，說：「你們應當救自己脫離這彎曲的世代！」於是接受他話的人都受了洗，那一天門徒增加了約三千人。
2. Jesus saves us, not baptism.
If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.
你若口裡認耶穌為主，心裡信 神使他從死人中復活，就必得救；因為心裡相信就必稱義，用口承認就必得救。
3. All of these people are confessing that they are a new creation in Christ.
Absolutely not! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Or are you unaware that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? Therefore we were buried with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life.
絕對不可！我們向罪死了的人，怎麼可以仍然活在罪中呢？難道你們不曉得我們這受洗歸入基督耶穌的人，是受洗歸入他的死嗎？所以我們藉著洗禮歸入死，與他同葬，為的是要我們過新生命的生活，像基督藉著父的榮耀從死人中復活一樣。
Here
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!
如果有人在基督裡，他就是新造的人，舊事已經過去，你看，都變成新的了！

Baptized INTO Christ
For those of you who were baptized into Christ have been clothed with Christ.
你們所有受洗歸入基督的人，都是披戴基督的，
Our baptism is showing that we, through faith, have become one WITH Christ. We are joined to Him. We enjoy the fullness of who HE is.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
所以，你們要去使萬民作我的門徒，奉父子聖靈的名，給他們施洗，
New identity. Baptism testifies that through you faith in Christ, you become a child of God, a disciple of the Lord Jesus, and filled with the power and presence of the person of the Holy Spirit.
3. So all things IN Christ are yours.
Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens in Christ.
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
我們主耶穌基督的父 神是應當稱頌的。他在基督裡，曾經把天上各種屬靈的福分賜給我們：
因為你們已經死了，你們的生命與基督一同隱藏在 神裡面。

Empowered to make Disciples of Christ
This is where I want to talk to us now church. As the community of faith. We are getting new family members. We have a responsibility, a calling to be their brothers and sisters.
1. Baptized into the universal church to equip the body and make disciples.
There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope at your calling—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.
身體只有一個，聖靈只有一位，就像你們蒙召只是藉著一個盼望。主只有一位，信仰只有一個，洗禮只有一種； 神只有一位，就是萬有的父。他超越萬有，貫徹萬有，並且在萬有之中。
They have been baptized into God’s church, into His family. In order to equip the church, and to obey the mission that Jesus has given His church to make disciples who make disciples.
2. That at our next baptism wouldn’t it be incredible to see some of these same people baptizing new believers?
SUMMARY
All of these individuals have completed a short curriculum on the meaning of baptism. This covered the biblical view of baptism, Why we need to get baptized, then covered questions based around their understanding of the Gospel. Then finally they each had to share their testimony with another believer. We do this so we as a church can say that we are being faithful to ensure that each of these people exhibit fruit that displays a changed life by Christ, and an understanding of the Gospel that they have put their faith in.
So now church, let’s celebrate, and I mean celebrate(heaven is rejoicing over one sinner who repents), this new life, celebrate the powerful work of the Gospel, and how these people’s eternity’s have been changed through the work of Jesus!
We are going to watch a testimonial video. We only could do one this time, but we hope to make more of these next time. We will have a couple of baptisms
