Tonight i am going to play off of a phrase that Bishop has given me many many times in many of my anxious situations.
You know those things that got you so emotional that you about to make a stupid decision. In fact I’m sure being worried about being alone the rest of my life and never finding the man God had for me. My soul mate is exactly why i have two divorces because I worried about being alone. I didn’t trust God to find me a mate that i could trust and love and that would be good for me I trusted myself and that decision actually left me alone and more hurt and lonely than i ever would have been had i not made that decision.
The phrase that Bishop would use is Play the tape to the end. You know the end of the song. The end of the movie. Look at the decision you are about to make and see what would be the result of that decision. A lot of times when we are anxious or worried we are not going to make good decision that will lead to a happy ending at the end of the tape.
Unlike that tape we cannot rewind the decision we make, we can’t pause the result or stop the tape so we don’t reap a harvest of what we have sown. Once we push play on the tape it rolls on and there is no way to unmake a decision that is very emotional. Decisions made under any emotion are devastating but decision made under worry are under more duress and seem more urgent and cause more damage long term.

Pray about anxiety/worry

Philippians 4:6 NKJV
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
This verse says be anxious for some things, No, Be anxious about our loved ones, No Be anxious about our finances, No Be anxious for our friends, NO
It says be anxious for Nothing! And in Greek just like the word All the geek word Nothing means absolutely nothing.
But in Everything by PRAYER and supplication.
Supplication- the action of asking or begging for something earnestly or humbly.
What do we do with worry we are told to PRAY!
That’s the cure for worry and anxiety its to pray. It’s right there in the word.

We need to cast our cares

Psalm 55:22 NKJV
Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.
1 Peter 5:7 NKJV
casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
These two verses say cast your burdens and cast your cares on the Lord.
Joyce Meyer husband favorite saying is “ cast your care” She talks about many times in her sermons how unhappy she was and how she worried and got caught up with things and she would tell him what she was frustrated about and what she was worried about and all he would ever say is “cast your care”. That he was always in a good mood and he was always having a good day because Dave let God carry the burdens in his life.
Would we have better days and better life if we didn’t carry all of our burdens by ourselves and we laid them at Jesus feet?
Truly there are some things we worry about that we really can’t do anything about. There are always things beyond my control. There are always things that me worrying about will not change.
My grey hair will not resume its color if i worry about it in fact there are many jokes that grey hair comes from worry if that were really true then a lot of us would not be able to hide how much we actually worry including me.
Stress can cause lots of physical problems it is actually thought that stress might cause grey hair but there are now laws only theories.
For Free: Laws in science are proven and Theories have yet to be proven. I.e. Darwin’s Theory of Evolution.
We worry about kids, significant others, partners, friends, money, housing, bills, health, .......to be honest anything about us we could worry about.

Do we really trust him?

If we are worried about our lives more than we are trusting God with our lives we may not trust him.
If we are giving our life to God why don’t we give it to him and why don’t we trust him with the areas of our lives or the ones that we love.
Matthew 6:25–34 NKJV
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Do you ever really stop to think about all the wild animals and vegetation in the world that grows and lives and no one tends to it. God is the great farmer in the sky tending to the world. We don’t need to worry God takes care of this whole world .
The song is true: He’s got the whole world in his hands.

The opposite of worry is peace.

Lets look at Philippians 4:6 again and adding in verse 7.
Philippians 4:6–7 NKJV
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
In verse 7 it says that if we be anxious for nothing and pray that the peace of God will come.
Peace of the world does not look like Gods.
Not what the world gives for peace. A fake type of peace. There are things that help us temporarily, sex, drinking, drugs, food, companionship, sleep, etc. I’m sure you can think of things that make you peaceful but the kind of peace that God can give is not contingent on a specific person, place or thing. It is continegetn on prayer and seeking God’s face in your times of anxiety worry and stress.

Keep your mind stayed on Jesus

Isaiah 26:3 NKJV
You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
There are two points in this verse God will keep you in perfect peace because they have their mind stayed on you and because he trusts in you.
Proverbs 3:5–6 NKJV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
We are supposed to trust God and not understand. You many not see what God is doing
Have Faith
You may not know were you will be going
Have Faith
Wisdom and Guidance and Leading of God and those around us.
Conclusion
We have to cast our cares on Jesus
So we can Trust him with our lives
So we can be at Peace with ourselves and those around us.
