Introduction

Concentrated forms of stuff.
TexSun orange juice. Saved space. Mix it when ready.
Cleaners. Similar values!
But, also gives you the option to make something a little stronger.
You can control the intensity of it!
When we think about the Gospel, it comes in a concentrated form.
--
The Gospel is potent.
--
It is powerful and does not need to be watered down!
As we look at a summary of Paul’s ministry in Rome, we see the characteristics of an effective Gospel ministry.

An Inclusive Gospel

Paul “welcomed all who came to him.”
We can read this on the surface and realize that in this context - Jews or Gentiles.
Typically how “all” is used with Paul.
But this ripples out for us to realize that it talks about any background.
--
No Quantity or Quality of sin can prevent salvation.
--
Regardless of how long you’ve lived apart from God.
Rosario Butterfield.
This is the impact of living inclusively.
Impact of hospitality and kindness.

A Focused Gospel

Sharing my faith and the various topics that come up: creation, dinosaurs, Cain’s wife...
He was intent on proclaiming those two things:
--
The Kingdom of God
The Lord Jesus Christ
--
KOG - God’s Covenant People. Old & New Covenants. God’s interests is not just one certain people.
When we consider the image of the tree:
Romans 11:17–18 ESV
But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you.
This tree did not start with the incarnation of Jesus. Nor Abraham. But all the way back to Adam.
Those who are in a covenant relationship with God.
And the one who opened that covenant up for us today is Jesus!
To be in that right relationship means that we are following Jesus - Lord.
To accept the sacrifice that He made for us on the cross - Christ.
This is what identifies us. It is what we have to share with others.

An Empowered Gospel

“With all boldness”
Boldness & Confidence!
This implies that Paul was facing circumstances that were intimidating.
The pressure by the Jews who had disagreed with him.
Increasing pressures from the Roman government. Turning more and more anti-Christian.
Paul knew he had the strength to stand even when this is unpopular or isolating.
This is the power of the indwelling Spirit.
Romans 8:9–11 ESV
You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
This same Spirit of Christ which indwelt Paul indwells believers today.
--
The same boldness that Paul was supplied is supplied to you today.
--

A Victorious Gospel

“without hindrance”
The government, in spite of everything, allowed him.
The Jewish leaders, in spite of everything, could not prevent him.
But, even more so, Paul found that proclaiming the Gospel provided victory over sin.
--
Salvation provides victory.
--
Salvation provides victory over death and the grave.
Salvation provides victory over hopelessness.
Salvation provides victory over hell.
It provides for Christians to walk in confidence.
Some believers that have the little perpetual rain cloud over their heads.
That is the exact opposite to the image that is given for Christ followers in Scripture.

Conclusion

Paul’s writing about a “false gospel” in Galatians.
Galatians 1:6–7 ESV
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.
Someone had watered down the Gospel. They had added works to it.
True Gospel, which is the only Gospel, empowers you.
We must be careful to keep the Gospel pure and powerful.
Immerse yourself in it.
And let if flow out of you.
Matthew 12:34 ESV
You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
“Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
--
Fill your heart with the Gospel and then Go and live it out!
