The Full Armor of God

Ephesians 6:14-20 (NKJV)

The danger on the battlefield is that we do not take the enemy seriously and therefore fail to put on all of the armor. By faith, you put on the armor through prayer. Never underestimate the strategy and strength of the devil.[1]

Overcoming the whole counsel of Hell requires the whole counsel of God.

1.      No one person has the whole counsel of God.

2.      Spiritual warfare is an activity of the whole body of Christ working together.

3.      Jesus promised the gates of hell would not prevail against the “Church.” (Matt. 16:18).

4.      Where there is spiritual agreement, the power of God’s people multiplies exponentially. (Lev. 26:7-8)7 You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you. 8 Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you.

The Belt of Truth Eph. 6:14

I. The belt of truth refers to your private life, truth inside of you-truth guarding your private parts.

  1. You cannot stand until you first deal with personal integrity.
  2. Collapse begins when we allow the tempter entrance into our hearts.
  3. The belt of truth is not the facts you believe about the Bible.  It’s your way of life.

II. The belt of truth is having a pure heart before God and being honest with yourself.

  1. We use denial and deception to cover up our personal weaknesses and sins.
  2. Denial is the terrible root of all human sin.
  3. To have the belt of truth means we must first renounce the cover up of denial.
  4. An unfortunate consequence of denial is destruction.

III. Resistance to the Father of Lies begins with an uncompromising, unwavering commitment to the truth and truthfulness, especially with yourself.

2 Corinthians 4:2 (NKJV) 2 But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
