Keeping The Vow

Luke 20:34–35 AMP
34 And Jesus said to them, The people of this world and present age marry and are given in marriage; 35 But those who are considered worthy to gain that other world and that future age and to attain to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage;

Week 1 (The Husband)

MARRIAGE VOWS:
THE MINISTER TO THE MAN: (Name) , do you take this woman to be your wedded wife? And do you earnestly promise, before God and these witnesses, that you will love her, comfort her, honor and keep her in sickness and in health; and that, forsaking all others for her alone, you will perform unto her all the respect that a husband owes to his wife, until God, by death shall separate you? MAN: "I will"
Vow: A Solemn Pledge (to oneself or to another or to a deity) to do something or to behave In a certain manner.
Genesis 28:20–21 AMP
20 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, If God will be with me and will keep me in this way that I go and will give me food to eat and clothing to wear, 21 So that I may come again to my father’s house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God;
Numbers 30:2 AMP
2 If a man vows a vow to the Lord or swears an oath to bind himself by a pledge, he shall not break and profane his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.
Do you take her to be your wedded wife

1: to take for wife or husband by a formal ceremony: MARRY

2: to join in marriage

3: to unite as if by marriage

And do you earnestly promise, before God and these witnesses, that you will
1. Love her
Genesis 29:18 AMP
18 And Jacob loved Rachel; so he said, I will work for you for seven years for Rachel your younger daughter.
2. Comfort her
Genesis 24:67 AMP
67 And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent, and he took Rebekah and she became his wife, and he loved her; thus Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.
3. Honor

Honor usually results in people being elevated in the eyes of the community.

4. keep her in sickness and in health
5. forsaking all others for her alone
You will perform unto her all the respect that a husband owes to his wife
Until God, by death shall separate you?
