Preaching has a central place among God’s people and is vital to their life and growth. It is authorised by God, empowered by the Holy Spirit and expressed supremely by Jesus Christ.

Preaching has its origin in God

It is a divine command

Mark 16:15 ESV

15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.

It is rooted in God’s grace

Ephesians 3:7–9 ESV

7 Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God’s grace, which was given me by the working of his power. 8 To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9 and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, who created all things,

It is empowered by God’s Spirit

Acts 1:8 ESV

Jesus Christ himself came to preach

Mark 1:38 ESV
