October 25, 2020 - Tell me the Story of Jesus Theme: Redemption

I always considered an honor when he allows me to opportunity to speak your mind. My mom and my stepdad here this morning. But yeah, they celebrating 39 years of marriage yesterday. Yeah, pretty good. That is great. So thanks for coming and what are you watching online your what? You're here live remember God's got big things in store for you. Amen. Yeah, I'm just going to pray for your goodness thing for your love father. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing is too difficult for you. And God you are with us. You're fighting our battle. You're giving us peace Father. I just thank you the words. I bring this morning or two words from you father. I thank you for your goodness. I think for your love and your precious name. Amen. How many enjoy dinner and talk about the weather when it come up here, but how many of you enjoyed looking at the sun this morning? Yeah, we haven't seen the Sun and who-knows-how-long. Yeah, absolutely. It's cold this morning. I think we're sent records all over Albert. I know in Montana they did overnight record cold, but you know what? It's still great to see the sun this morning. And for those of you who watch my daily Facebook cause you know, I tell jokes so I'm only going to tell one joke. I know Pastor Shawn Jones a couple, but I'm only telling one from Roxana. I did use it on a call last week, but I'm going to tell it again. now how many of you have heard of picabo streets Olympic skier? A couple people. Picabo Street. Absolutely. She won won Gold Medal. I think who won silver medal shoes in the Olympics. She also worked in a hospital. Like some of you do she worked in the hospital, but finally they forbid her from answering the phone. Because she would always answer the phone and say Peek-a-boo I see you.

There you go. She never did work in the hospital. That really is your name peekaboo. She was named after a town in Idaho, but they they make a joke out of that one, but I want to talk about Redemption this morning and the story of Jesus. And it's a powerful story Redemption. But before I do. I want to take a couple minutes and talk about what's going on around us all around us know. I hope you have to talk about this public service announcement on another opportunity to speak. I don't know where he is. I can't look at him right now. But many pastors don't like talking about politics and current events that impact people and people said they tell me not Pastor Shawn but other ones too, but do we fully understand? What's going around going on in our country and around the world right now? So we fully understand? What's happening. Do we understand every morning we get up in Canada? Marriages are failing everywhere. including the church That is not of God.

Mental illness is rising. Rising Society does not have an answer for these issues. The government will never have an answer for these issues. But we have two words we can use. but God

he can change everything. Now we need to pray for our country and for people like we never prayed before. I heard TD Jakes said recently and he said in such an eloquent way. He said if I'm in the hospital pray for me, but don't use restaurant prayers. he said used furniture flying prayers Use prayers that are so powerful that the neighbors wonder what the heck's going on in your home and in your church. That's what we need to be doing today. Let's shake the gates of hell with our prayers a man. Let's shake. The Gates of Hell God is calling Watchmen it man or woman boy or girl younger calling to stand up for him in this last hour and not be afraid to speak up not be afraid to speak up. Now. If I said to you does anybody know if I said to you the name Dietrich Bonhoeffer, what would that mean to you?

Dietrich Bonhoeffer stood up against the tyranny of the government in Germany. While many Christians around him question what he was doing. Asking him why he was protesting the government. He kept on moving forward for God. He knew that the government was wrong. Eventually was tried and tongue and a concentration camp at the age of 39 years old. Because he would not stop. Proclaiming the word of God not would not stop standing up against tyranny. We need to pray pray pray for a nation and we on the other side power in prayer. We know what the Bible tells us a second Samuel 24 25. The Lord was moved by prayer for the land. When we pray for our land god is moved. Never stop praising him never stop praying praise worship and warriors all go together. How many of you were not Warriors how many of you are warriors for God this morning?

Know if opportunities are open to you use your words and actions to impact and influence government as well. Not just your prayers and I could talk for hours about this, but that's that's in a public service announcement. Diligently pray for a nation that God would be revealed in the hearts of those in authority.

Dave sebastiani kicked me out yet, or can I keep going? Okay. Thank you. Now over the last month, I've really been spending a lot of time thinking about our Redemption one of my Facebook calls. I did talk about it. But redemption in itself is a powerful Miracle. How many would agree with that Redemption is a miracle a man have solutely.

In a second Timothy 332 says people will be self-centered lovers of themselves and obsessed with the money. They will post a great things as a strut around in the American Pride Mark all that is right. It was Northern family. So they will be ungrateful and godly there is so much evil there so much hate going on in the world right now more than I've ever seen.

But an evil thinks this is what evil thinks evil thinks that people cannot be changed.

That's what evil thinks evil thinks people can never be changed again. That's a lie from the Devil. God changes people everyday. So when I really started thinking about Redemption month ago, I started watching people really criticizing politicians around the world and you know, what you can say any politician they're criticizing politicians all over the world. Calling an evil calling a missed call in and knock on and whatever might be. But God changes people everyday. Everyday your Friday night rocks and I watch the movie. You know what this son changed his life. and the father didn't like it the father did not like the fact that the sun changed his life and eventually the father killed the son No, that isn't direct contrast to the love that God has for all of us. Now. I know some of you didn't grow up with the greatest father in the world or even with the father. Buy the Redemption story in the love that God has for all of us. It is so powerful. So very powerful Redemption is such an amazing thing Charles Spurgeon said that I thought I could have leap from it Earth to Heaven at 1 Spring when I first saw my sins were drowned sorry for crying, but our sins are washed in the redeemers blog. Does that make you excited?

Redemption the powerful message of Jesus story of Jesus the power to change lives. Jesus changed lives while he was while he walked in yours you still changing lives today. He still changing lives today. You know, I'm going to talk about a whole bunch of people here now. And for those who might have watched that Facebook call some of them I talked about on that call, but don't worry. You'll be out of here in time for his lunch. I'm not going to talk but let's start with a story from the Old Testament. Joshua chapter 2 the spies were sent out. And it ran into a harlot name Rahab.

I don't believe it was by chance that those spell those spies found their way into her home. I don't believe by chance. God had plans for Rehab on the beginning of time.

Just like God has plans for you from the beginning of time. When you were created in your mother's womb. God has plans for you. Maybe you haven't done all those plans yet, but you're going to in the name of Jesus. What God has prepared for you? He's going to make sure you too. But anyway, I sent them there so she could help them and bye-bye that she also obtained the righteousness from God. Why did God pick her nose? Why would he single her out for salvation? Don't know perhaps she knew that she would stand up for him and his people and courageous obedience. No matter what. God knew that maybe she would stand up for God and for courageous obedience and man man. Just like he's looking for courageous obedient people today. Rahab is a perfect example the fact that God hates sin, but he loves people.

Rahab's faith in God grafted her into a new family.

She was Regine. Do you know the rest of the story? She was a mother of Boaz who married Ruth there in a genealogy of Jesus? Rahab was even mentioned in Hebrews chapter 11 verse 31 by faith because she believed in God and his power Rahab the Harlot did not die with all the other sooner City when they refused to obey God or she gave a friendly welcome to the spies. By faith because she believed in God by faith. We believe in God this morning John chapter four of us go on to the next person Redemption the Samaritan woman. The Jews free background the Jews look down on Samaritans. despise them but here he is. Jesus was asking her to give him some water. No, take time to read the full story at home. But they talked thank you. They talked. And you know what Jesus did he told her about her life? Told her about her life. And although she was confused. She could see and understand that he was the anointed one the life changer. You know verse 27 at that moment the disciples returning were stunned to see Jesus speaking with the Samaritan woman getting none of them dare to ask why or what they were discussing even his disciples were stunned that he was talking to her all I wants a woman drive to drop your water jar dranoff their Village and told everyone come and meet a man at the well, who told me everything I've done he could be the anointed one we've been waiting for this is the keep this isn't Bruce 30 now hearing this to keep people came streaming out of the village to go see Jesus. Her life was changed and you know what? She went and told the people she wanted the people to be able to hear about him and see him as well. We should be going everywhere and telling of his life changing power everywhere.

You spoke to her. He spoke to the crowd.

verses 9 through 11 upon hearing that virtues are slowly left the crowd one of the time beginning with the oldest to the youngest with a convicted conscious until finally Jesus was left alone with the woman still standing there in front of him. So he stood back up and said to her dear woman. Where are your accusers? Is there no one here to condemn you looking around she replied and said, I see no one Lord. Jesus said I certainly don't condemn you either go from now on be free from a life of sin get redeem to her. Cheapest redeem by the power of Jesus. Jesus changed her life

Zacchaeus how many view like tax collectors? No one right. No, she is was a tax collector people hated Tax Collectors 2000 years ago people still hate tax collectors. The Bible also says he was a rich man.

Turn on for young cheating Tax Collectors were known for cheating excetera excetera and also that they work for people who wanted to see Jesus as the Lord passed through town. What was the big thing about sekiya's he was short exactly. We don't know how short he was. But he was short. He couldn't see over the people. So annoying that Jesus would pass by a certain tree. He climbed the tree is very interesting. The first did not think himself enough for Jesus to notice even though he was respected him what he did. But he didn't think Jesus would see him. But that but he wanted to see Jesus anyway, like an eager fan going to Extreme Measures to see it athlete or movies.

Now to the complete astonishment of Zacchaeus in the crowd and the crowd Jesus stopped under the tree. He looked up and said Zacchaeus come down immediately. I must stay at your house today. We all know Jesus went to the cross. Two other people were there with them.

Acts chapter 9 he was on his way to Danette Damascus the Roundup more Christians or put in prison to kill and we would ever do whatever with them.

This is what it says. Paul wanted to capture all of the Believers. He found both men and women and drag them as prisoners back to Jerusalem. So he obtained the authorization and left for Damascus. Just outside the city of brilliant light flashing from Heaven suddenly exploded all around him.

And falling to the ground, he heard a booming voice at him saw so why are you persecuting me?

The man accompanying so I were stunned and speechless for they heard a Heavenly voice, but can see no one. Sorry replied. Who are you Lord?

This is what the Lord said. I am Jesus the Victorious the one you're persecuting now get up going to the city where you'll be told what you're to do. You all know the rest of the story go home and read it as well. Paul was redeemed. He was changed. The man who went from killing Christians became to be one of the world's greatest missionaries. the power of God transform his life What's in the power Society wasn't a power of a government? It wasn't a power of his friends and it's the power of God power of Jesus at transform his life.

Just like the power of God transform the lives of all the other people we talked about this morning and there's many examples. And it doesn't matter if you're young or old. You're late late in life.

Power of Christ is available transport lives. Where is all the Believers that are here and I think all of your Believers? I don't know for sure. You know, we have the power and the authority authority to speak into people's lives.

We have the answer for what the world needs. We need to speak boldly loudly jam-packed and change others. We can never stop telling the story of Jesus and his transforming Redemption that he does. No for the Believers, I'm going to tell you something if you're living in Guild because of something you did in the past weather yesterday or 5 years from now 10 years ago. Let that killed go. God does not want you hanging on that guilt. Let that killed go.

That is a Lie from the enemy. That is a Lie from the pit of Hell. God redeems you when you called him and said Lord him the sooner. He redeemed you mistakes, and he went to the Cross. We're all going to make mistakes. God doesn't want you hanging on to that guilt.

Remember you are not defeated.

You are a Victor. You are victorious because of the blood of the Lamb the blood of the Lamb that is flowing through you.

Look, you know I said this on a call last week to look out the windshield don't look out the rearview mirror. Look out the windshield and see the big things God has in store for you. Don't look at the review little tiny rear view mirror at your past. Look at your future now if you're here today or you're watching online and and you've never trusted Christ to be your lord. Want to talk to you for a couple minutes? Many many people we know that watch these calls you might be watching the week. Now, you might be watching live right now. You might be in your home waking up with a hangover this morning and eating your bowl of cereal. I want you to remember this. It does not matter what you have done. It doesn't matter where you have been in your life. Your life can be changed and change forever. And forever means eternity. And you want some of my Sable Court, how can God possibly use me?

How can all Mighty God the god of Heaven use a sinner like me? What how can you forgive me for all I've done?

I'm going to remind you again. He formed you in your mother's womb. before you were ever born He created you and I'm going to remind you that he loves you. And I'm going to tell you over and over and over the stories of Rahab the Samaritan woman the woman that they wanted to Stone as a key at the criminal on the cross.

And I'm going to tell you my story I was sinner was saved redeemed Sanctified and made an overcomer. because of Christ

he is never too busy for you. He's waiting for you. He has big plans for your life. His shed blood changes lives and again believer don't hang on in the rubbish of the past. If you're not a Believer yet today is your day. Let him change you today.

He again he formed you in your mother's womb to bring you to this moment this moment in time.

This Moment In Time

Powerful story Redemption is a miracle. And I know and we know that Christ has the power to transform lives.

every sin forgiving when you call upon him every debt erased when you call upon him a man.

It's a little different now course, but if you need prayer this morning and you're in the church. Do not leave until someone has prayed for you. I know we can't lay hands on you anymore. I know we got to stand 6 feet away from you. But that's okay. God is Not impacted by distance a man. And if you're watching and you need prayer you reach out online and somebody you call the church, whatever my feet do not wait another day to get prayer. No matter what it is. Confused and her struggling with things if you were marriage is failing, whatever it might be reach out to him. God is impacting lives is impacting lives of believer to make him stronger and he's also impacting lives at the unbeliever to turn them into Believers. And that's what we're we're trusting God for right God loved the world. so much that he gave his son that who would have to say that who Whosoever God loves each and every one of you so much.

And I saw a prayer online yesterday started with this. I'm just going to read it. Then. I'm going to pray pray as I close, but we pray for Winds of Awakening to breathe Upon Our great nation. We pray for those that feel hopeless in life was to be awakened to refreshed and revived we ask for your winds to blow again over death the spear and declare Dry Bones live. I know there's a lot of dry bones running around right now, and we're going to declare they're going to live God. We thank you for this day father. I just think for all the people here all the people watching online God. I just thank you Father. God number one. You are fighting our battles that nothing is too hard for you God the Father. I just we just Proclaim your word father. We Proclaim your words and answer the Earth God and Father. I just thank you for all you're doing in our lives father and I just thank you for all the Believers here and watch it online Lord. Just encourage him remind him that you created them in their mother's womb and that you have big plans for them. You have big plans for them to impact the neighborhood impact the World Lorde for any unbelievers are watching God. This is the day this is the day that they're going to call to you and say God. Cricket me Lord I just thank you again for this time this morning. I thank you for your goodness. And thank for your love bothering me just praise you and thank you for all you do in our lives.
