What is motivation to you? What is your motivation?

On March 11, 1830, a little English girl was doing her lessons with her tutor, and the lesson that day had to do with the royal family. As she studied the genealogical chart in the book, she became aware of the astounding fact that she was next in line for the throne! At first she wept, and then she looked at her tutor and said, “I will be good.” The fact that little Victoria would one day be queen motivated her to live on a higher level.

What will your faith motivate you to do? How will your faith motivate you to live? Who will your faith motivate you to tell?
Mark 12:28–34 ESV
28 And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” 29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” 32 And the scribe said to him, “You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that he is one, and there is no other besides him. 33 And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” 34 And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And after that no one dared to ask him any more questions.
We love because He first loved us 1 John 4
Not matter what I do, if it is absent of His love, it is worthless 1 Corinthians 13
And then our text. Love God (in return) and love our neighbor.
Guy named Hillel around the time Jesus was born was asked by a Gentile to explain the law while standing on one leg. His response “That which is hateful to you, do not to your neighbor”. He went on to say the rest of the law is simply commentary of this.
Love God with all...
Way of restating it. Emphasizing it. Like
Daniel 7:18 ESV
But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, forever and ever.’
Got 10 acres? Love God with it. Have a pond? Love God with it. Able to hammer a nail? Love God with it. Understand Medicare Part B? Love God with it. Found time and an empty nest? Love God with it!
Love your neighbor...
As yourself. You’re gonna eat, sleep, wear. You’re gonna relax, unwind, rest. You’re gonna worship, grow, serve.
Ultimately, on this earth in this life, love for God is expressed by loving others.
End with: Who will your faith motivate you to tell?
Oh I wish you would. Oh how I wish you would. Frog in a hole in the road. I couldn't but then a truck came and I had to.
There’s not a truck coming. But there is a day coming. A judgement coming.
