set as a goal the return of Jesus, the winning the ultimate championship,and at the end of the season the coach saying well done

all those old habits that you are carrying around. the way your old coach taught you
laziness in learning the handbook
laziness in keeping your body in shape for the game
bad habits you need to get rid of
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
I will transform you into someone useful to this team
you have a position to play and you have to work hard at getting better
your mindset needs to be always on the game

He has a special love for you

and at the end He is going to Judge the contribution you have given to the team
V 15 -16 So conduct your selves in the same way He is, “Holy”

Imitate Him, He is your standard for life

V 18 The way you were added to the team was not that you were
Good
nor did you buy your way on
nor through the futile works of your family BUT
V 19 Jesus bought you from the corrupted, useless team
He used His own life
bought you with His blood
He was perfect, but His Father wanted you on the team
and the only way for you to be here is, Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice for you
V 20 This plan was set in eternity back
For Jesus to die, in order to make you perfect, apart of the team
V 21 It is only your Faith in Jesus death and Resurrection are you on this team
V 22 This new position has given us a special love for our teammates
So practice love with one another
this will carry us through the hard times
V 23 You have been given a new life, a new start,
Throw off the graveclothes of your old team
Remember the price that was paid for you to be here
our being on the team is a pure gift
the suffering of the Son is an example to how we should conduct ourselves
Our mission is to bring honor and glory to our Owner
V 24 The only thing that is going to matter in life is; this team and your contribution
But this team is going to win the ultimate championship
we will be honored by the Father, and the Son
so go out there and fight the good fight
Bring Honor and glory to the Father with your conduct and thoughts
Conclusion
we have had a little fun here this morning
but this book is a preparation for persecution
and the stakes are serious
