Deuteronomy 33:26-29 (KJV)
26 There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.
27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.
28 Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.
29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.
This is the last message Moses gave to the Children of Israel before climbing Mount Nebo and letting God take him. We don't hear or see anymore from Moses until a few thousand years ???? later when he visits with Christ on the Mount of Transfiguration. The whole book of Deuteronomy is a reminder of what God has said, and is aimed to the younger generation, those who had not died in the wilderness wanderings of the last 40 years.
There is no one like the God of Israel - He is Incomparable Incomparable in his UncreatednessIncomparable in his GreatnessIncomparable in his Gracefulness
He is our Help - Thy Refuge - Hebrews 13:6 "So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me" is a wonderful promise to us today - along with this verse in Deuteronomy - This passage reminds us that God is riding upon the heaven to come to your help. I like what Max Lucado wrote on this thought - "The Greek word for helper in this passage means “to shout, to run.” When you need help, God runs with a shout, “I’m coming!” He never leaves you. Ever!"1

(G)If I needed sunshine, God (C)sends His brightest (G)ray If I needed raindrops, He'd send a (A)shower my (D)way(D7) So(G) why should I worry(G7) When heaven (C)holds it all for (G)me And He would (G)bank(C)rupt (G)heaven to (D)meet my (G)need
chorus Oh, God would (D)bankrupt heaven If that's what I (G)need He would (A)lower any (A7)mountain My (D)valley to (D7)meet Oh, he'll (G)hold me, He'll (D)hide me, He'll (G)shelter and never (C)deny me Oh, He'd (G)bank(C)rupt (G)heaven to (D)meet my(G) need

Do you need encouragement - He will helpDo you need a friend - He will comeWhatever you need tonight - God will Help!!!Charles Ryrie says, "God is above, beneath, and before His people, an eternal refuge."3
God is Eternal - What does that mean for us? That the same God who helped Elijah and unlocked the brassy blue always answers my petition and he'll do the same for you. Yesterday, God was there, Today God is there and tomorrow he will be there. Always always always God is there. Going before, being behind. What a wonderful God. He Is A Shelter - He will shelter us. - I read an article recently about a Bald Eagle Couple that is nesting in Washington DC appropriately dubbed Mr. President and The First Lady. The First Lady laid two eggs in the nest and has been sitting on them ever since. Storm Stella came through a couple of days ago and through all of the wind, sleet, snow up to 42 inches in some places, The First Lady has held her post. They have a live webcam and you can see the snow still sitting in the nest, but that doesn't seem to bother her, she is going to stay on those eggs until they hatch. 4
I want you to know Satan blows his icy death chilly winds across our path, brings the sleet and snow storms to bring us down - but we are resting under the shadow of the Almighty. He IS OUR SHELTER!!! He'll Holds Us (forever) - I love this thought - Underneath thee are the everlasting arms - that means he is holding and sustaining us. WHAT A GLORIOUS GOD WE SERVE!!! We are in his hand and no man can pluck us out. What security, what safety, what comfort to know that we are in his hands. He Will Fight Our Battles - Our Red Seas will part, Jericho's Walls fall down, The Enemy Will Flee, Our Goliaths will be knocked down if we let God fight our battles. Bro. Leulff used to sing, "He promised he would fight my battles for me, And thus I am assured of victory, and though a host encamp about me, My heavenly father's watching out for me."5
Little David - Sandy Knight "The battle's not mine," said Little David,
"Lord, it's Thine, I'm in Your favor.
I'm giving it all to You, I knew not what to do.
I'm so glad You let me see, You're really all that I need.
For the battle's not mine, I give it to You, Lord, it's Thine."
1. Little David looked so small, Goliath looked so tall,
The odds were just too high for Little David.
So he shook off all of his load for with the power of God he was bold,
He said, "The battle's not mine, I give it to You, Lord, it's Thine."
CHORUS:
2. A Little David he stood tall, now Goliath seemed so small,
Sweet victory had reigned for Little David.
He gave the battle to One with a record for getting things done,
He said, "The battle's not mine, I give it to You, Lord, it's Thine."6
CHORUS: twice
