The story of many kids lives. Falling into the same patterns of sin over and over.
Even my own story
If you are worried about falling into your old behaviors after Patch. You should!! The reality is that there is an enemy that can’t wait to meet you at your weakest point and destroy you.
Satan is strong but more importantly, he knows how humans are.
That’s why some of you are afraid to commit to God. Because you see yourself failing in the future or even worse.. you see yourself enjoy those things that God hates!!
Basically some of you are ready to surrender your soul to that bully, that strong enemy that knows how to control you by your sins or the sins of others...
OR maybe you are a pioneer, someone that is not afraid, you are willing to fight, you really care about your soul and the souls of those around you.
You understand that eternity is around the corner and you want to be one of those few that will be called Worthy, Children of God.
You care more about the Heavenly realities that the earthly pleasures. You love God and Jesus But...
there is a problem, You dont know where to start. You have tried before to overcome this enemy but you have found yourself in tears because he is too strong for you.
You even wonder if you are gonna make it to the Kingdom Of your Father.
Let me tell you, there is a solution that is simple but mighty. There is a way to overcome sin, the enemy and every temptation.

v1 God is gonna allowed His servant to be tested to show everyone that He can be trusted.
The Spirit will lead you to see the difference in between his power and your power. So that you can trust only in his power

What promises of God you don’t think apply to you? Could it be that is the devil tempting you?
v4 For Jesus the way to defend against Temptations was with the Bible
The way to do it is by applying the Word to your personal situation. Like Jesus.
Now this tells me that he spend time thinking about it. Specially the commandments.

Now you really need to take the time to understand because if not the enemy can manipulate you by taking the Bible out of context.
How many times do we prefer the fast and easy way instead of the painful, slow and disciplined way that leads to life?
v9 The enemy is saying “trust me” but Jesus knows who is really in charge.

v10 Jesus quotes Deut 6:13 where the entire passage speaks against doubting God
This tells me that Jesus knew how to apply the Bible to his situation, he was a student of the Word and a believer in the Word. Are you doing the same?
Again if you feel defeated and overcome by temptation remember this:
v11 That Jesus was able to resist the devil by standing firm on God's written word James 4:7 1 Pt. 5:6-11

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
