Ada ungkapan tertulis di alkitab: “Melihat suara...”. Terjemahan LAI: Seluruh bangsa itu menyaksikan guruh mengguntur,...” Exodus 20:18. Kata “melihat suara” juga terdapat di Revelation 1:12,

Apakah maksud ungkapan “melihat suara”? Apakah suara bisa dilihat? Berikut komentar Sforno, Rabbi Yahudi pada abad medieval:
the word רואים as “seeing” is to be understood as like the same word in Ecclesiastes 1:16 ולבי ראה, “and my heart ‘saw.’” Just as the heart cannot see, so people cannot “see” sounds. The meaning is that they understood the meaning of these sounds. They could not continue to endure the volume or nature of thee sounds. The same is explained in greater detail by Moses in Deuteronomy 18:16. They were afraid they would die.
Kata רואים sebagai “melihat” dapat dimengerti seperti kata yang sama di Ecclesiastes 1:16 ולבי ראה, “dan hatiku melihat,” sebagaimana hati tidak dapat melihat, jadi manusia tidak dapat melihat suara. Maksudnya ialah bahwa mereka mengerti maksud dari suara itu. Mereka tidak dapat terus bertahan intensitas atau alam dari suara itu. Kata yang sama dijelaskan di rincian besar oleh Musa di Deuteronomy 18:16. Mereka menjadi takut mereka akan mati.
Sebagaimana רואים mengungkapkan tanpa perantara, melihat/menyaksikan dan mendengar secara langsung TUHAN berbicara dari gunung Sinai sehingga semua mereka yang mendengar mengerti, tidak ada kesalah pahaman.

Sesuai Leviticus 14:14, darah korban diberikan di telinga, jempol tangan, dan jempol kaki Sang Imam; ini berarti seseorang belajar Torah melalui mendengar (telinga) kemudian menyatu dengan tubuhnya sehingga seluruh tubuhnya menjadi pelaku Torah (tangan dan kaki). Raja Daud juga menulis di Psalms 40:7,
In sacrifice and offering you have not delighted,
but you have given me an open ear.
Burnt offering and sin offering
you have not required.
Kata membuka telinga berarti tidak tertutup sehingga Torah tidak terhalang untuk masuk. Jika demikian, bagaimana supaya telinga kita tidak tertutup untuk mengerti Torah? Satu pernyataan Yesus di Matthew 11:25,
At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children;
Disini Yesus mengatakan bahwa ‘TUHAN menyembunyikan hal-hal itu (kerajaan Sorga) dari orang hebat dan berpengetahuan, tetapi menyatakannya kepada orang kecil. Dengan kata lain, orang yang hebat, cerdas, banyak pengetahuan tidak memperolehnya, tetapi justru orang kecil [dianggap tidak penting] yang dituntun oleh TUHAN sehingga memperoleh Kerajaan Sorga. Artinya, kerajaan Sorga tidak didapat karena gelar, kehebatan, pengetahuan manusia tetapi, kepada yang TUHAN berikan!

Orang yang mau menerima (Matthew 7:8, John 14:14),
Kata miskin (yun: ptōchos) berarti selalu rindu, rendah hati, membutuhkan (Matthew 5:3)
Percaya dan dibaptis (Mark 16:16)
