Sermon

From this common text, I feel that God can provide fresh revelation…
WHAT IS A HOUSE?
One question sticks to my mind, what is a House?
Some of you may define a house simply as somewhere that you live. You do so because you define a house through the lens of your past experiences.
Then even others would define it as a financial goal you desire to reach but cannot afford. This is because you define the word by your current circumstances.
Some of you may define as a building suitable for human habitation or a “dwelling house,” a term used in real estate. This is because you define the word by your expertise.
THE POWER OF PERPSECTIVE.
These definitions for the word house are evidence of different points of view and show the power of perspective.
It is the power of perspective that allows some people to see something in you that do not even see in yourself.
We have all been there, where you feel defeated and someone compliments the very thing that you had just shamed yourself about.
It is perspective that fuels your desire to continually strive for change despite everyone around you having given up.
You try convincing people that there is light at the end of the tunnel but no matter what you try, they just cannot see what you see because of their perspective.
And there is not necessarily anything wrong with them, but the reality is that some people simply cannot see everything you see.

HAGGAI 2:1-9
Authorized by Cyrus of Persia
We see here that the Prophet Haggai is bringing forth a word from God to the people of Israel after they were sent back to the Land of Israel.
The people of God had been sent back to Israel to claim their home territory and rebuild the Temple that had been destroyed by Babylon
During the building process, the people of God gave up on building God’s house and abandoned the project.
Haggai brings forth a word from God to encourage his people to continue construction to the point of completion.
The glory of this latter house, our own bodies, is greater than the glory of the original Temple.
The glory of our latter works shall be greater than the glory of our former works
Conclusion
Christ died for our sins not only that we will have salvation but also that our lives will be changed in the now and in the future.
