Be Filled
2020 was the year of emptying
2021 has had a rough start
We have found we cannot do this alone
There is not enough of me to give
As we have entered this new year we have a prayer - BE FILLED
Life a life of endless possibilities
Each day filled with hope, meaning and purpose
Power that is evident in my life daily living in the overflow
Our prayer is Paul’s prayer
For this reason I kneel before the Father from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. I pray that he may grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with power in your inner being through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, and to know Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us—to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Metamorphosis - transform
Becoming totally different than what you were
It starts here
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!

Not only the initial - but it is ongoing
We are being transformed
Strengthened - we are enabled
According to His riches not out of - limitless
No one is too far gone - He will complete -
The question is will you fight Him over it?
The Spirit is the true source of Fulfillment
and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, and to know Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Use the word rooted
Where do you get your nourishment
Don”t go deep - won’t go high
firmly established - foundation
Love beyond what we can understand
We are not asking for wealth or bigger and better - filled with the fullness of God
No bolder request
The Spirit is the true source of Power
Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us—to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Power - dunamis
Not a dormant power - like a battery waiting to be used
Effectual power - working in our lives and world
The only limit to His power is our understanding and thoughts about His power
Beyond us.
I am able to do all things through him who strengthens me.
The Spirit is the true source of Power
Not some things but all things
Everything God wants to do in your life and through your life - the power is there to do it
Purpose of that power is His Glory
For it is God who is working in you both to will and to work according to his good purpose.
