All Nations That Forget God Psalm 9:17
Forgetting. Have you ever forgot anything? Maybe something really important. Like your wife’s B-day or your anniversary, or valentines day. A minister was getting ready to christen some of the babies of his church. As he called all of the forward a lady in the congregation gave a gasp of dismay and whispered to her husband so that all could hear. “I knew we’d forget something. John, you run right home as fast as you can, and fetch the baby.” We can laugh at things like that but when it has become permanent when memory is gone complete where they no longer know their friends, children or even their spouse it become’s tragic. I think it is safe to say that America is trying to forget God. It’s not a political struggle anymore, or even partisan problems, It is a spiritual battle with a Nation that was raised under God’s guidance and some who want to throw it all away.
· Sam Harris a Neuroscientist and avowed boisterous atheist one made the statement on public television that “if given a magic wand that he could eradicate either rape or religion he would eradicate religion.”
· We are more concerned with global warming than God’s warnings
· I am shocked that Quote Christian churches are even debating whether or not homosexuality is acceptable or not. But even worse than that at a conference of again quote gay Christians this statement was written up, “A monogamous homosexual relationship based on honesty fidelity and love is both good and honored by God.” {Now I do want to say that while it is sin that doesn’t mean God doesn’t want to save them.}
· Did you know that 1 out of 3 women over 45 have had an abortion.
· The Alan Guttmacher Institute (the research arm of Planned Parenthood) states: * 1% are victims of incest or rape * 1% had fetal abnormalities * 4% had a doctor who said their health would worsen if they continued the pregnancy * 50% said they didn't want to be a single parent or they had problems in current relationships * 66% stated they could not afford a child *75% said the child would interfere with their lives.
· Worldwide, 55 million unborn children are killed every year. Around the world, every day 150,685 children are killed by abortion; every hour, 6278; and every minute, 105. Those are the reported cases. If you are an American citizen, no doubt your greatest interest is in your own nation, as is mine. Let me break the abortions down to a national statistic: 1,600,000 babies are aborted in these United States every year. Per day, that's 4,383; per hour, that's 183; per minute, there are 3.

· In Kansas alone there are 30 a day 1 of them being late-term
· We are taking commandments down from public buildings, kicked prayer out of school, (so much that I’ve heard of prayer police who scout especially in the cafeteria for students praying who are stopped)Trying to take the mention of God out of the pledge of allegiance.
· Adventures in Odyssey once did a story on George Washington and in this story they quoted him from his journal praying in the name of Jesus. They received some negative feed back, having him pray that in a story.
· LETS FACE IT AMERICA IS TRYING TO FORGET GOD.
· God say’s all nations that forget God will be cast into hell. What that means is they will be judged. I believe it was Ruth Bell Graham who said that if God doesn’t punish America soon He’d have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah. What is our hope what can we do?
· Let me talk about a couple more “IF’s” I found in the Bible.
1. If the foundations be destroyed what can the righteous do? Psa. 11:3 or one version reads 3 When law and order are being destroyed, what can godly people do?" NIRV
· A. The word “foundations,” here, refers to those things on which society rests, or by which social order is sustained - the great principles of truth and righteousness that uphold society, as the foundations on which an edifice rests uphold the building. The reference is to a destruction of those things in a community, when truth is no longer respected; when justice is no longer practiced; Albert Barnes
· 1. You may at times feel like just throwing in the towel, but it does say “if” only “If” the foundations are destroyed.
· 2. The other if tells us what we can do - 2 Chr. 7:14 If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
· I like how the next verse goes on to say-Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
· He is ready to forgive and heal if only we will bow down in sackcloth and ashes so to speak and repent.
· Attorney David Gibbs at IHC spoke on how we need to be clean. He was defending Lester Rolloff, (Anybody know him) who was running Christian rescue homes refusing license from the Government. the morning before they were to go into court Bro. Rolloff told attorney Gibbs to kneel down on the floor and to stay there until he was clean. This was a battle they needed to be clean before they went into. That is what this scripture is saying get clean repent get everything straightened out turn from you wicked way then He will hear and send healing.
