Today we’re beginning a new series. Back to Basics.
Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying,
“Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.
“Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.”
It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
Then he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’ ” And he said to me, “These are true words of God.”

How many of you have heard of the Great reset?
When I first heard of it I completely thought it was just a conspiracy theory
after all what I was hearing about it was so crazy, and absurd I thought no rationale person would believe it.
Then I heard our prime minister talk about Covid 19 being the perfect opportunity to implement the great reset.
that got my attention.
According to Wiki
The Great Reset is a proposal by the World Economic Forum (WEF) to rebuild the economy sustainably following the COVID-19 pandemic. It was unveiled in May 2020 by the United Kingdom's Prince Charles and WEF director Klaus Schwab.[1][2] It seeks to improve capitalism by making investments more geared toward mutual progress and focusing more on environmental initiatives.
that doesn’t sound bad does it?
After all helping poorer countries is a good idea.
But can we trust the WEF?
the world elites get together in Davos every year to discuss how they want to shape our world
They talk about inequality,
but it has never occurred to them what they could easily do. If they have more than everyone else they could simply give it away to those who don’t have as much.
If they were being sincere that is what they would do.
they would rather to to empower governments to take your resources and give them to others
part of the plan is the elimination of all debt.
wow I’d could go for that!
but wait how are they going to eliminate everyone’s debt?
That’s easy.
Part of the plan is also the elimination of all personal property by 2030.
You won’t have any debt, but you also won’t own anything!
Not your house or you car. or your savings account
everyone becomes equal
but as orwell wrote in animal farm.
All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others
Well who does own everything?
Well the government of course.
where have we heard this before?
the Soviet Union.
But didn’t that fail?
Yes, but you see why it failed is not everyone was doing it. The whole world has to join in to make this this happen
They want one world government to be formed to ensure this happens

Incidentally, the catch phrase of this Great Reset movement

Let me say I’m grateful our premiere of Alberta has openly rejected this great reset plane
So Why Am I spending time talking about this today?
Well remember. satan cannot create. he can only duplicate and distort.
The great reset is God’s original idea to usher in His Kingdom here on earth.

The enemy has perverted and warped God’s plan in to a diabolical plan that imprisons and removed person freedom from humanity
You see God wants to fundamentally change the way the church operates.
Although He did not initiate Covid 19, He will make His good come out of it!
The devil is doing everything he can to make it worse for humanity.
But God has already done everything required to make things better for all of us!
That was the intro to this series.
Now let’s get into today’s message
Sermon intro
I have had several conversations in the last year with christians who try to intellectualize their faith.
These are good people with good intentions, who are quite intelligent.
They use human reasoning to selectively interpret passages of scripture according to their own thinking.
In one conversation, when confronted I have heard the person say
God gave me a brain. Shouldn't I use it?
The expected answer is Yes, Yes you should use your brain.
But God spoke to me in that moment and reminded me of my life verse.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.
For many of us today we live in an intellectually focused world.
The opportunity to learn something is more available today than ever before in history.
“But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase.”
We are in that time of increased knowledge!
You want to learn about quantum physics. You no longer have to go to university you can now watch a youtube video.
You want to to learn a new language, download the app on your phone
You want to learn how to paint, there’s people offering lessons on facebook
The internet has opened a wealth of knowledge to anyone who has access to it.
But there’s a problem with simply relying on your own knowledge.
Even though you have a great capacity to learn, and a treasure trove of information at your disposal
it still is not enough!
There is a popular meme shared by atheists
They told me to use the brain God gave me....I did..... Now I’m a atheist. Ironic, isn’t it?
My response to christian’s who make this statement about using your brain is this
Yes God gave you a brain, but He also gave you His Spirit, what’s the more trustworthy source of information.

What does the Bible says about the intellect of people?
It is important for every believer to grow in knowledge, but always remain cognizant of the source of that knowledge

And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
Fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Focus your learning on things that matter
Focus your learning on things that matter
debating how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, does not help you very much
nor a course on underwater basket weaving
Remind them of these things, and solemnly charge them in the presence of God not to wrangle about words, which is useless and leads to the ruin of the hearers.
Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce quarrels.
The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged,
with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,
and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.
Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

Remember after post secondary. believing I had the answer to every problem

The more you learn you more you realize you don’t know
its humbling
Have you noticed how everyone is now an expert on everything.
Used to be reserved for those who went to university. but now
You read something on facebook and now your an authority on the subject
We have programmers who are experts on vaccinations
We have mechanical engineers who an experts on everything science
We have politicians saying the science is settled!
Or our PM pretending to know about quantum computing
Maybe with all this knowledge we could all use a little humility. Ok maybe alot of humility
The fear of the Lord is the instruction for wisdom,
And before honor comes humility.
Never allow your acquired knowledge to replace your need of God

You can definitely learn about many different subjects. but never forget that’s all found in God. the creator of all things
the field of Science was used by many to discover more about God
It was believed and still believed by many Christian scientists the more you know about creation the more you know about the creator .
However many people in the science community do not believe in God.
Their learning and knowledge replaced the knowledge of God.
But that does not mean you cannot be a christian in a scientific field.
I believe we need more Christians to get involved in fields of study previously ignored.
I believe a Christian will lead to the discovery for a cure to cancer.
why leave this to an unbeliever?
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’
For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.

All the earth was seeking the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom which God had put in his heart.
in the end Solomon turned away from God
but that doesn’t have to happen.
Summary thus far
Grow in knowledge and understanding
But....remember that it all comes from God
Focus your learning on things that matter
Embrace Humility
Never allow your acquired knowledge to replace your need of God
But the most important aspect let’s go back to the begging of this message
Let’s talk about
Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit
The human brain can hold alot of information between 1 terabyte to 2.5 petabytes.
that’s alot of cat videos
but what we can learn in the natural no matter how great it is, it is still limited
but what Holy spirit can teach us is without limits
Can we trust what we know. after all what we know is always growing and changing.
we hardly every have all the information we need.
most decisions are made with the finite information at our disposal.
Have you ever made a decision, that later on you discovered more information. had you had that information you would have made a different decisions.
yes we all have.
That’s not the case when we learn to rely on Holy Spirit
He provides all we need when we need it
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
This is a regular part of my life. I regularly know things I never learned.
“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

you yourselves know the thing which took place throughout all Judea, starting from Galilee, after the baptism which John proclaimed.
“You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
One of my greatest desires is to see the people of God to shift from limited human understanding to limitless empowerment of Holy Spirit.
If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
“But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for it will be given you in that hour what you are to say.
“For it is not you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
Summary
Use your brain but don’t allow it to replace Holy Spirit
