Well, The other day I spotted my nearly 7 year old daughter, Mercy, eyeing me as I poured myself some root beer.

Her favorite drink and mine.

I asked “Mercy, would you like some root beer?”

“I sure would, daddy!”

So I said “Go get a cup and I will pour you some.”

Now we have cups and we have cups.  (Show the cups)

Which cup do you think she came back with? (Show the big cup)

Now why do you think she brought back the big cup?

She’s thinking, “Keep pouring, Dad, I’ll tell you when.”

The little cup wasn’t enough, she wanted more!

God is my portion…forever.

What I think I ought to have, what I think I deserve,

what I think I have earned, the temporary pleasures of this earthly life,

my slice of the pie, my portion,

does not come from this world, but from God alone.

He is my portion.  God is enough.  God is enough.
