Daniel 12

Notes
Transcript

Abomination that causes desolation.
What is it?
Daniel 11:31 — initially fulfilled (Antiochus Epiphanes)
Daniel 9:27 — maybe it refer to the cross of Jesus Christ?
Matthew 24:15 and Mark 13 — refers to the coming of armies of Rome
Daniel 12:11 — possibly farther in the end
The point of this is that God wants Daniel to persevere —
Daniel 12:10 NIV
10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.
or Daniel 12:12-13
Daniel 12:12 NIV
12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.
Daniel 12:13 NIV
13 “As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.”
What enables us to persevere from this passage:
The Hope of the resurrection (vs. 1-4)
everlasting life
everlasting shame
Our time of suffering is limited (vs. 7, 11, vs. 12)
Our true inheritance (vs. 13)
