Messages of the Kingdom of Heaven
Jesus is of the order of Melchizedek, both as priest and king - Heb 7:17
For it is witnessed of him, “You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.”
John the Immerser and Jesus the Messiah both emphasized this as their primary message - Matt 3:1-2; 4:17
In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
“At hand” means very soon - Matt 26:46
Rise, let us be going; see, my betrayer is at hand.”
This also includes a warning of judgment on Israel - Matt 3:10
Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
