Review:
Jesus is preaching. This is a sermon. He beginning the theme of his preaching, which is the Kingdom of God.
Jesus is teaching what life is like in the kingdom of God.
If you heed Jesus’ call to follow him by repenting and following Jesus in faith, you are brought into the kingdom of God.
Once you entered into the Kingdom there is a change in who you are. Remember that this are contrary qualities?
Blessed are the sad? Happy are the sad?
Happy are those who are being persecuted?
You are changed person, the qualities that you once thought to be so important are not.
In light of the extraordinary claims that Jesus has just made.
The World is in denial.
The World is in denial.
The people of God affirms God’s authority and design.
The World is decaying.
The World is decaying.
The people of God preserve the world from death.
The World is darkness.
The World is darkness.
The people of God shine the truth of God through word and deed.
