Eph 3:1-13
History: Kings, queens, conquering, crusades, expansions, empires, etc.
History of the bible: God’s story unfolding. God is guiding is linear (beginning and end) moving toward something. Purposeful: Glory of God and the good of his people.
1. God Eternally purposed the church
2. God created the church in Christ (11)
3. God brought Jews & Gentiles together as the church (One church- connected to Jesus and one another). Bonded to Christ, and bonded to each other. We are together. Union with Christ and Union with each other.
Rev 7:9 Multitude from all nations filled with all kinds. No ethnocentrism (that ethnic group the point). No classes (greater and lesser parties). Theology of unity- Humility, love, and patience.
4. God spreads the gospel through his church
5. God displays his plan through the church
