In all seriousness Pilot wanted to have nothing to do with this entire thing
It was his preference that the Jews dealt with Jesus
Which they could have
But, they wanted the death of Christ
The Jew had a long history of ignoring and killing God’s prophets
Jer 29:19 - "Because they have not hearkened to my words, saith the LORD, which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith the LORD."
Matthew 23:34-37 “Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: 35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!”
Here they are about to do it again, this time to the greatest of the Prophets, Christ Himself

John 18:38-39
Truth, what is truth
Hard two years where I honestly believe there has not been much truth out there looking at the world
Virus, who knows honestly about that
Election, never know the truth there
World today that is leaning toward a subjective truth
Based on feelings
Based on perspective
Based on opinion
Of which all of those can change, so we are living in a world where nothing is absolute, no absolute truth
Where this hits home is that thinking tries to come into the church
To where the church is ruled by feelings
To where the church is ruled by perspective
To where the church is ruled by opinions
Ends up with a church doing noting and going no where for Christ
Truth is fact, truth is reality, truth is right here in our Bible

John 14:6 - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus is the truth
He is fact, He is reality
Here the fact of Him is the reality that nobody can work their way to Heaven
Abraham did not work his way to Heaven
Moses did not work his way to Heaven
John the Baptist did not work his way to Heaven
No OT Sant worked their way to Heaven and likewise no NT child of God either
Eph 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
John 8:32 - And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
The truth is that their Saviour was standing right there before them and they were rejecting Him
They were not hearing Him
They were rejecting truth
Turn with me to John 10:27-28 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Who are his sheep?
Those that received His witness of truth, trusted Him as Savior, Born again into new life
What does His sheep do?
Follow Him
Go where He leads
Do what He does
What’s promised to His sheep?
Eternal Life
Eternal Security
