The Road!

As we continue our series entitled
The Gates, The Road, & The Decision
today let’s look at the road!!!
John 10:7–10 NLT
7 so he explained it to them: “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who came before me were thieves and robbers. But the true sheep did not listen to them. 9 Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. 10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
Have A Word Of PRAYER!
Confession of Faith
I am not moved by what I see or by what I feel. I am moved by what I believe. I believe the WORD of God! The victory is mine! I have it now! I can see it through the eyes of my faith! In Jesus Name!

Is It An Entanglement or A Relationship?

What is an entanglement?

A complicated or compromising relationship or situation.

a situation or relationship that you are involved in and that is difficult to escape from:
Matthew 9:9–13 NLT
9 As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector’s booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him. 10 Later, Matthew invited Jesus and his disciples to his home as dinner guests, along with many tax collectors and other disreputable sinners. 11 But when the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with such scum?” 12 When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.” 13 Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”
The world creates deception - the deceptive sins can be subtle - almost like it’s no big deal, as matter of fact to this date you may have never had to deal with the consequence of your sin
This is why this sin entanglement with the world is so common among all of us!
We all practice sins at different degrees, to the point we accept them as common and understood behavior.
The problem is we know in our heart the something is wrong no matter how minor it appears to people!
We stand guilty before God and risk not inheriting the kingdom of God!
So we see Matthew, - a tax collector - caught up in the worst type of entanglement! -
And we see in the text that Matthew must be looking for something different in his life, because when Jesus approaches him and says follow me - walk on the narrow road, be my disciple -
Matthew leaves everything and follows Jesus!
I believe Matthew, just like many of us was searching for something… He may not have been able to articulate what he needed, but Jesus knew what he needed - A shepherd to lead him to truth, wholeness and healing!
We all know family members, friends, co-workers, loved ones who are caught up or experiencing an entanglement with some aspect of the world!
Paul says it like this:
1 Corinthians 6:9–11 NCV
9 Surely you know that the people who do wrong will not inherit God’s kingdom. Do not be fooled. Those who sin sexually, worship idols, take part in adultery, those who are male prostitutes, or men who have sexual relations with other men, those who steal, are greedy, get drunk, lie about others, or rob—these people will not inherit God’s kingdom. 11 In the past, some of you were like that, but you were washed clean. You were made holy, and you were made right with God in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
Jesus is looking for those who have been caught up in an entanglement with the world and the things in the world!
That’s You and ME!!!
Jesus is looking for us to walk the narrow road with him!
Jesus is looking for some who is sick, who is hurting, who is looking for truth, who is looking to be set free from the pain, the frustration and the discouragement
Jesus is looking for those who have been tied up in the things of the world!
Jesus is looking for those who have been hurt by the world
Jesus is looking for those who have been broken by the world and the people in the world!
Jesus is looking for those who are in an ongoing entanglement of sin!
He is not looking for the righteous!, but those who want to be right with God!

A New Road - A New Journey!

Renewed
Outlook
And
Direction!
John 3:16–17 NKJV
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
Jesus did not come to condemn me or you! He came to save us!
He came to save us from perishing!
He came to save us from the hurt!
He came to save us from the shame!
He came to save us from the pain
He came to open our eyes to see the truth
He came to heal are brokenness
He came to set us free!
See the world wants you to think that God wants to condemn you!
The World wants you to believe that God doesn’t love you
The World wants you to believe that you cannot find true peace and joy
The world wants you to stay entangled in it’s lies
But Jesus tells us plainly in
John 10:10 NKJV
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
On the narrow road Jesus gives life. The life he gives is abundantly richer and fuller.
The Narrow road with Jesus is a life that lasts forever, yet it begins today.
The Narrow road with Jesus is a life of his forgiveness
The Narrow road with Jesus is a life of his unconditional love
The Narrow road with Jesus is a life of his guidance, wisdom and direction The Narrow road with Jesus is a life of deliverance from judgement
The Narrow road with Jesus is a life of protection
The Narrow road with Jesus is a life with the Holy Spirit
The Narrow road with Jesus is a life the world can’t give to you and the world can’t take it away.
John 5:26 NLT
26 The Father has life in himself, and he has granted that same life-giving power to his Son.
Real life is not entangled in hurting, destroying, or hating others
Real life is in a relationship with God through his son Christ Jesus!
This relationship is where both parties are equally committed!
Real life in a relationship with Jesus means both parties are moving forward together
When that happens fruit is produced!
When that happens you see Galatians 5:22-23
Galatians 5:22–23 NKJV
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Choose today to follow Jesus on a new road - is it narrow - Yes
Is it the right road - Yes!
Choose the road less traveled! Choose today the road to follow Jesus!
