Move the Mission

Matthew 28:18–20 NKJV

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

What I have just read to you is what is known as The Great Commission. It’s heavy. In those three scriptures right there, Jesus asked us to do a very big task.

It involves every color, ever nation, every language, every income level and every education level! And there are always going to be things that try to make this mission harder… conflicts in the world, division, events…

But regardless of what’s going on… SOMEBODY’S GOT TO MOVE THE MISSION!!!!!

And that’s what we do in this church with Move the Mission! You may not be called to Africa or Japan or Timbuktu, but you can still help to Move the Mission there!

For many, many years, every summer, New Life Rector has raised money for what we used to call “Sheaves For Christ”. Now, it’s Move the Mission (MTM). It supports the very best ministries:

Tupelo Children’s Mansion

Missionary Efforts

North American Missions

Youth Camps and NAYC

Lighthouse Ranch for Boys

New Beginnings

Bible Quizzing

Apostolic Youth Corps

Youth Events in Section 9

and several other ministries...

Fundraising Efforts

Our History

We’ve been giving to this cause ever since it’s been around in this church.

And check this out: in the last 4 years (since 2017), our church has given over $14,000 to Move the Mission!

And last year, we raised the largest offering in a year that we’ve had in over 25 years: $5,500! That put us at about #6 in Arkansas! And this was all during COVID!

Our Goal

This year, we are setting our goal at $6,000, and I believe that God is going to help us to reach that goal!

What’s Happening

We’re making personal commitments. We’re having the Around the World for MTM dinner again! We’re going to have the auction that gets so much attention… over the next several months we are going to really get involved and push for a great offering to MTM.

And God is going to help us do this!
